Victoria Colvin Maintains Winning Ways Through 2020 Winter Equestrian Festival

Wellington, Fla. – Mar. 17, 2020 – Though the 2020 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) was unfortunately cut short with only 10 of 12 weeks completed, Victoria Colvin made the most of her time competing in just about every ring at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, accruing a long list of victories in the hunter and jumper rings. At the conclusion of the series, Colvin led the standings for the WEF Overall Hunter Rider, sponsored by Equiline, with a lead of more than 200 points over the next-closest competitor. An efficient rider in all types of classes with a skill level suitable for a multitude of horses, Colvin topped divisions ranging from the Pre-Green Hunters to the Performance Hunters and the Young Jumpers. Additionally, her standout performance in the $100,000 WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular once again earned her the lead spot in the lap of honor as she defended her title.

“Although I am so sad that we weren’t able to compete in the final two weeks of WEF, I am so proud of our entire team for their hard work and dedication to success throughout the entire season. Everyone worked seamlessly for all ten weeks and came together during these trying times to ensure that all the horses were cared for to the highest level. As is the case every year, our victories in the rings are felt by everyone – not just me – because it is a team effort to get a horse trained and prepared for competition. In only ten weeks we accomplished so much!”

Victoria Colvin Sees Success in 6-Year-Old Jumpers

Aboard her own Emilion Manciais, Colvin earned three championships in the 6-Year-Old 1.25m Young Jumpers over the course of WEF. Colvin has trained the horse herself, and the young gelding is proving to be a formidable contender in the young jumper divisions after a successful debut in the 5-Year-Old Jumpers in 2019. Quick and careful, “Pancake” is an ideal jump-off horse and has turned in almost all clear rounds so far in 2020.

Victoria Colvin Earns Championship Honors Every Week of WEF

At the conclusion of the 2020 season, Colvin had earned 39 tricolors in both hunter and jumper divisions aboard nearly 20 different horses, a testament to her ability to seamlessly ride various different horses with top results.
