Second World Championship Hunter Rider Week Coming July 22-26 to 2020 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival

11 Weeks of Summer Competition Begins June 17th with CSI2* and AA Hunters

Traverse City, Mich. – May 28, 2020 – Traverse City Horse Shows is pleased to announce that a second World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) week has been added to the schedule for the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), presented by CaptiveOne Advisors, LLC. In addition to the previously-scheduled WCHR distinction during GLEF Week II, exhibitors will now have a chance to earn valuable WCHR points for end-of-the-year finals and prize money during GLEF Week IV. Thanks to this update, one-third of the six weeks during the GLEF summer series will be optimal competition opportunities for hunter and derby horses and riders.

“Considering how difficult it has been for equestrians to find horse shows to compete at given all of the unfortunate show closures and postponements due to COVID-19, we are happy to be able to bring some extra opportunities to our riders by adding the second WCHR week to the schedule this summer,” commented Matt Morrissey, Event Director at Traverse City Horse Shows. “We are looking forward to having everyone join us in Traverse City beginning June 17 and are expecting another beautiful summer season.”
