Local Partners Create Uniquely Pure Michigan Experience at Great Lakes Equestrian Festival

#GLEF2018 Kicks off This Wednesday!

Traverse City, Mich. – July 2, 2018 – Excitement continues to build as the 2018 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF) returns to the spectacular Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City, Michigan, this Wednesday! This year’s edition of GLEF promises an even better overall experience with world-class hunter, jumper and equitation riders competing over the course of six weeks.

The area surrounding the showgrounds boasts a number of popular food and wine hot spots to indulge in, and GLEF is proud to partner with many local businesses to provide attendees with the ultimate Traverse City experience.

“Our local partners are extremely valuable to the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival,” said GLEF show organizer Matt Morrissey of Morrissey Management Group. “They each bring something special and uniquely Traverse City to GLEF, which our exhibitors and visitors really appreciate and enjoy. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the local flavors that make our event great and truly standout. We are so lucky and proud to call Traverse City home.”

This year, exhibitors and spectators can relax ringside in the popular VIP Club with a summer cocktail or North Peak Brewing Company beer in hand made from locally-grown ingredients as well as wine from Bonobo Winery.

Additionally, back by popular demand is the GLEF farmers market! This year, GLEF has partnered with Oryana Natural Foods Market, northern Michigan’s only certified organic retailer, to offer GLEF attendees the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Traverse City culture and give back to the community by shopping featured goods produced by local farmers!

Sundays at GLEF are family fun days with a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy, and where each week culminates in an exciting grand prix show jumping competition with some of the world’s best horses and athletes. With no shortage of entertainment, this year’s circuit will also feature a t-shirt toss courtesy of Tee See Tee.

On your days off from the horse show, be sure to contact Bay Life Getaways for organizing day trips to popular Traverse City must-see attractions such as Sleeping Bear Dunes, Torch Lake and popular wineries.

In addition, if your visit to GLEF inspires you to establish your own residence in the beautiful resort town of Traverse City, Render Construction can help you build the custom home or cottage of your dreams. Their team of highly experienced professionals possess the expertise and architectural design knowledge to build a home that embraces and functions around your northern Michigan lifestyle.

GLEF would like to thank community partners James C. Smith Fine Jewelry as well as Subway, who will be hosting an exhibitors lunch and party at dates to be announced soon, for their generous support of this year’s festival!

Other contributors to this year’s GLEF include local transportation partners Cherry Capital Airport – TVC and Avflight. Traveling through the Cherry Capital Airport – TVC is the ideal situation for those participating at GLEF — offering direct flights to Traverse City from major hubs across the country all summer long. In addition, Avflight provides full fueling and line-service operations as well as a wide variety of amenities to customers ranging from corporate jet traffic to freight and cargo companies as well as charter operations and small aircraft.
