Horse & Country TV Invites You To Relive
The Action Of The 2019 Longines
FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final
Barcelona, Spain – Oct. 15, 2019 – After providing viewers with coverage of the 2019 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ series throughout the summer, Horse & Country TV (H&C TV) invites its subscribers to watch the action of the grand finale event unfold with on demand streaming of the 2019 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final. The final took place on Oct. 6 in Barcelona, Spain and is available now for streaming on H&C TV.

Seventeen teams represented their nation in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final, including the United States, Belgium, Sweden and Ireland. In a thrilling climax to the competition, Ireland claimed the prestigious gold medal, in addition to securing themselves a ticket to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympic games.

On the first day of competition, the team, which consisted of Peter Moloney, Paul O’Shea, Darragh Kenny and Cian O’Connor, unfortunately fell victim to the challenging track set by Spain’s Santiago Varela, who will also be the course designer in Tokyo next summer. They racked up a collection of faults to place them in fifth place at the conclusion of round one.

However, head on over to H&C TV to watch how the Ireland came back strong to put on spectacular performances during the final round to finish with only single time fault. Overtaking the lead on the home stretch, Team Ireland left the newly-crowned European champions of the Belgian team in the dust by 3 faults. The remaining six teams to contend in the final round were Sweden, who finished third, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Colombia, all of which were no match for the luck of the Irish.”We expected a very tough fight from Italy and Colombia who were our direct opponents [for Tokyo qualification], but as it happened we were also holding strong against the big countries like Belgium and others,” said Irish chef d’equipe Rodrigo Pessoa. “People sometimes don’t realise the pressure the riders are under to bring this qualification home. The weight of their country was on their shoulders, it was a big ask from them today and to do it in the style they did it – hats off to them!”
