Gay Polo League Celebrates Successful 6th Annual GPL Thanksgiving Polo Clinic

Boynton Beach, Fla. – Nov. 29, 2018 – As the beginning of polo season in South Florida nears, the Gay Polo League (GPL) is keeping players prepared, most recently with the 6th Annual GPL Thanksgiving Polo Clinic that was hosted at Palm City Polo. The three days of sport, instruction, food and friends was held Friday, November 23 to Sunday, November 25 to cap off the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The clinic consisted of one-on-one and group instruction for 12 players from esteemed polo professionals, and included a candlelit dinner on the polo field in addition to a traditional Argentine asado. The three teams represented Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, RSM US, LLP and Cedar Crest Stables in the clinic’s tournament.

Twelve players benefitted from instruction during the 6th Annual GPL Thanksgiving Polo Clinic.

“My heartfelt thanks goes out to Palm City Polo and the impressive group of professionals who spent their weekend coaching our players on the ground and on the horse about the finer points of polo,” said Chip McKenney, organizer of the GPL Clinic. “I think every single participant left a stronger player, and it was invigorating to see so many players making improvements and supporting each other throughout all three days of the clinic.”

From April 4 – 7, 2019, the iconic International Polo Club Palm Beach will host the 10th Annual Land Rover Palm Beach International Gay Polo Tournament, one of the most exciting polo and social events of the season. Make sure not to miss it! GPL is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and is thrilled to host the annual charity event once again, with the proceeds going to help those within the LGBTQ community.
