Brandywine Horse Shows 2018 Prize List Now Available Online

Devon, Pa. – March 5, 2018 – For the eighth consecutive year Brandywine Horse Shows will offer two weeks of superior hunter, jumper, and equitation competition at the iconic Devon Show Grounds. The event will feature two premiere rated shows, which will run June 27- July 1 and July 4–8, 2018. This year’s title sponsor will be the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund, and the show will once again be presented by Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS).

Show manager Geoff Teall said, “We are very happy to welcome back our past supporters and also welcome the many new exhibitors that are planning to come to Brandywine this summer. We have several new and exciting classes and awards to offer, along with the quality and hospitality our exhibitors have come to expect. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you.”

Highlight events of week one, which is recognized by the World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) program, include the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, taking place  on Sunday, July 1 in the historic Dixon Oval, as well as a Pony Hunter Classic later in the day. The second week will host its second USHJA Pony Hunter Derby, as well as the inaugural $5,000 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championships, with one championship for the 3’ and 3’3” and a second championship for the 3’6” and 3’9”. Both weeks will feature a $5,000 USHJA 3′ National Hunter Derby on Saturday for exhibitors and spectators to enjoy.

Each week of the highly anticipated show has an array of options to fit a variety of riders’ abilities, from lead line to international derbies events. Throughout the duration of the event, over $100,000 in prize money will be awarded to riders of all ages from professionals to young riders.

Due to its immense success last year, Brandywine will continue to host its second annual Brandywine Cup Equitation Classics, which will take place on Sunday, July 1 and July 8 in addition to hunter classics for both Juniors and Amateurs alike. The inaugural $2,500 Mike Rheinheimer Equitation Trainers Award will be presented to the trainer of the overall Brandywine Cup winner during the second week.

Other exciting opportunities include the PHSA Low Adult/Children’s Derby, as well as Green 3′ and 3’3″ hunter classes such as the $500 Green Working Hunter 3′ and 3’3” and the $1,000 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Stake, which will feature sections for 3’ and 3’3” as well as for 3’6” and 3’9”. The $2,700 High Performance Hunter division will return to Brandywine, and there will also be Adult Amateur and Small and Large Junior Hunter sections.

For jumper riders, there will be the $14,500 Junior/Amateur Owner Jumpers, as well as the WIHS/NAL Child/Adult Jumpers.

The shows benefit Canine Partners for Life, which provides professionally trained service and companion dogs to those with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities.
