Wellington, Fla. – May 6, 2019 – Andrew Welles LLC is pleased to introduce trainer Eric Glynn as its newest full-time, professional team member. Glynn, hailing from Ballindine, Ireland, has made an exceptional addition to Andrew Welles LLC during the 2019 Florida season and will continue to offer high-level instruction and training alongside Welles. Founded in 2010 by international show jumping athlete Andrew Welles, Andrew Welles LLC offers top-notch training of show jumping athletes and horses at the highest level of the sport.
Glynn has an extensive background in the equestrian industry, coming from a family that is highly involved in the sport at all levels including developing young horses, training and competing. The 28-year-old began riding at the age of seven and has competed at the most prestigious shows throughout Europe, including the Dublin Horse Show and Hickstead Horse Show, and worked under the tutelage of his uncle, Cameron Hanley, in Germany, among other elite show jumping professionals in Europe such as World Champion Jos Lansink.
Glynn most recently worked at Castlefield Sport Horses under Ger O’Neill for several years, where he trained juniors and young riders to top placings at the most prestigious Junior and Young Rider events in Europe. While at Castlefield, Glynn also oversaw the training of some of the top young horses to compete at the World Breeding Championships in Lanaken. His highlight of last year was training Jason Foley to the Gold Medal at the European Junior Championship and his brother, Max, to a win at the Dublin Show in the 148cm ponies at just 13 years old before moving to the United States to join the Andrew Welles LLC team.
“I am really looking forward to the future with the team at Andrew Welles LLC. Andrew and Alex [Welles] are so motivated, there is an exciting group of horses in the stable horses, we have great young horses, and the clients all have new horses that they are starting to really click with,” commented Glynn. “It’s going to be a very exciting year ahead for me, Andrew, Alex, and the whole team.”
Welles and Glynn first started their collaboration during a very successful summer series at Spruce Meadows in 2018, where they laid out their vision for the future. Glynn officially moved to Wellington, Florida to join Welles’ team in December of 2018. They worked together throughout the 2019 Florida season to help produce stellar results from all of their clients and horses, including 5* Grand Prix placings at the Palm Beach Masters and the Winter Equestrian Festival and most recently, a third-place finish for Welles in the Longines Global Champions Tour Miami Beach 1.45m 2* Final.
“Eric has been an outstanding addition to our team,” said Welles on his new partnership with Glynn. “We have some really exciting things on the horizon with our new training facility that we are building in Wellington and some talented horses and students to fill it up. As a training team, we really want to specialize in helping younger riders move up to the U25 and Grand Prix divisions. From my own experience ascending in this sport, it is very beneficial to be a part of a team that is jumping at a high level. Having Eric as on the team as a trainer and rider is a great asset to both me and our students.”
Up next, the Andrew Welles LLC team will head to Lexington, Kentucky to compete at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show, followed by Split Rock Jumping Tour and the CSIO5* at Thunderbird Show Park. The highlight of the team’s early summer schedule will be five weeks at the prestigious Spruce Meadows horse show in Calgary, Canada.
