Wellington, Fla. – June 2, 2016 – The second annual Sugar Erskine Charity Polo Clinic will take place at the Tacoma Polo Club on June 25 and 26 and will be hosted by The Alcott Academy. A percentage of proceeds from this event will benefit Horses Healing Hearts, a charitable organization in Florida that Erskine personally endorses and serves as an official ambassador.
“I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to Horses Healing Hearts,” Erskine said. “It is a full circle non-profit. It is about helping the kids, as well as experiencing how the horses help them.”
Horses Healing Hearts helps children raised with addiction in their home by working with horses. They teach empowerment, life-coping skills, and help them build self-confidence by learning about horse care and riding.
Erskine is a highly rated professional polo player with a 7-goal handicap. Originally from South Africa, he has played since he was 9 years old. He has competed all over the world, including Argentina and the United States, in major international tournaments.
Erskine said he learns more from his horses and teamwork with other greats than from actually winning games. He feels lucky to have been blessed with a supportive wife, Brigitte, and two wonderful sons, who have all been instrumental in his success.
The clinic is tailored to intermediate and advanced players. It will cover everything from horsemanship, to game strategy, ball hitting and much more. To register for the clinic, visit www.alcottacademy.org
