SBS Farms Continue to Dominate the Show Ring at HITS V Ocala Winter Festival

Buffalo, NY. – Feb. 22, 2017 – As the horses and riders of SBS Farms entered the fifth week of competition for the 2017 winter show season, they continued to prove their merit as one of the top hunter show barns in North America. Based out of Buffalo, New York, these competitors have consistently left their mark in the Ocala, Florida show ring.

Kathy Chiaf won the title of Adult Equitation champion and was also the champion in the Adult Hunter 36-50 aboard her own Sweetwater. These wins came off the pair’s success last week in the Adult Equitation 46 and Over division. This week, the duo easily took the win in the Under Saddle and Over Fences classes to contribute to their tricolor ribbon.

Alex Trolli came away as champion in the Adult Hunters 18-35 division with her Del Pierio. The pair placed first and second Over Fences as they swept the field.

Michael Williamson and David Steffee’s Maggie May continued to find success this week and were crowned Junior Hunter champions, having taken the Large Junior Hunter Division Championship during Ocala III Premiere and their third division championship at The Ocala Winter Classic. The pair also earned the mid-circuit champion award in the Large Junior Hunter division.

Alicia Heberle, SBS Farm’s assistant trainer, received top ribbons this week aboard Silver Linning, owned by Kathy Chiaf, in the 3’6″ Green Hunter division.

Hunt Tosh piloted Helen Lenahan’s Girl Crush to a Reserve Championship win in the 3’6″ Green Hunter division.  Girl Crush placed first and second Over Fences and third in the Under Saddle.

Molly Gfroerer was 11 and Under reserve and Small/Medium Champion in the Children’s Pony division with Samantha Hurley’s Silver Icing. Gfroerer guided Silver Icing to win blues in both the Over Fences and Under Saddle classes. Gfroerer and Sliver Icing were the reserve mid-circuit champions in the Children’s Small/Medium Pony division.

With competition continuing until late March, the team at SBS Farms has plenty of time to continue their winning streak in the coming weeks before returning to Buffalo in April.
