Savonna Adell Scores Best Child Rider on a Pony Title at Skidmore College Saratoga Horse Shows

Saratoga, NY – June 27, 2018 – Fresh from competing at the prestigious Devon Horse Show in Devon, Pennsylvania, Savonna Adell continued her winning performances at Skidmore College Saratoga Horse Shows in Saratoga Springs, New York. Trained under the expertise of Little Brook Farms, Adell is quickly becoming a familiar name in the winner’s circle at top horse shows throughout the country.

The Skidmore College Saratoga Classic I marked the first week of competition which ran from June 13-17 and saw Adell take home the championship tricolor in the Small/Medium Pony Hunter division aboard Blackout. The pair secured two over-fences wins and second place in the handy. The duo was also third place in an over-fences class, which was won by Adell aboard her other mount, Laugh Out Loud. In the Large Pony Hunter division, Adell took home the reserve championship honors with Spellbound. Adell piloted the chestnut gelding to wins over-fences and in the under saddle as well as a third place ribbon in the handy round.

Adell was also honored in the winner’s circle after claiming the $1,500 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby title riding her own Laugh Out Loud. The young athlete also earned top placings with Blackout coming in third place, Spellbound in fourth place and the sixth place ribbon being awarded to More Like It.

To make her victories that much sweeter, Adell won the Best Child Rider on a Pony award to conclude a stellar first week at the Skidmore College Saratoga Classic I.

“I am so happy with all of my ponies,” expressed Adell. “They all stepped up to the plate during Saratoga and it was amazing to have them be so consistent. I am so thankful to be able to ride these ponies and I am very excited about the rest of the summer.”

The next week of competition was the Skidmore College Saratoga Classic II from June 20-24, which saw Adell earn both the championship and reserve championship tricolors in the Medium Pony Hunter division with Laugh Out Loud and Sportin’ Around, respectively.

Laugh Out Loud topped two over-fences classes as well as the undersaddle. The talented rider also rode the gelding to a second in the handy and a third-place finish over-fences. Judges awarded Sportin’ Around with a blue ribbon over-fences and in the handy, while the pair came in second and third in the other over-fences classes.

For the second week in a row, Adell made the team at Little Brook Farms proud as she was awarded with the Best Child Rider on a Pony award during the Skidmore College Saratoga Classic II.

“The whole team at Little Brook Farms had a wonderful time at Saratoga,” said trainer Gary Duffy. “To have Savonna earn the Best Child Rider on a Pony award two weeks in a row really shows how much she is continuing to improve and build a partnership with each of her ponies. We could not be more thrilled and we are looking forward to the rest of the summer show season as we prepare for Indoors.”

Next up on the agenda for Little Brook Farms is two weeks competing in upstate New York at the Lake Placid Horse Shows, where Savonna Adell and the rest of the team are hoping for more top results to add to their long list of achievements as the summer show season heats up.
