Rider Applications Now Being Accepted for Inaugural Marcus Fyffe Dressage Albion College Symposium

Albion, Mich. – Sept 5, 2018 – Olympian David Marcus and international Grand Prix competitor, Nicholas Fyffe, of Marcus Fyffe Dressage are pleased to announce a two-day symposium Oct. 27-28 in Albion, Michigan. Hosted by the private liberal arts school, Albion College, the unique educational opportunity will be the first symposium the talented training combination has led together outside of Wellington, Florida.

Located in southern mid-Michigan about 90 miles west of Detroit, the symposium will take place in the Randi C. Heathman indoor arena at the Albion College Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center. The venue sits on 340 acres of stunning countryside and features two heated viewing areas complete with a PA system for auditors and a 125′ x 410′ indoor arena for participants.

“We are thrilled to welcome Marcus Fyffe Dressage to Albion College,” Carolyn Killewald, the event’s coordinator, explained. “While both David and Nicholas routinely travel the country separately for their high-quality clinics, this event will be the first time the pair has combined efforts to bring a truly unique co-instructed symposium to students.”
From bringing along young horses to developing world-class Grand Prix mounts, Marcus and Fyffe consistently produce winning dressage athletes at all levels. The combined experience of these professionals creates a powerhouse team that offers proven training programs customized to the needs of each client and horse. The pair have coached multiple students to podium finishes at the North American Youth Championships, wins at CDI competitions and Olympic Trials.

Each day of the symposium will include eight private lessons with training from both Marcus and Fyffe, who will simultaneously explain theories and exercises to participants and auditors. Horse-and-rider combinations of all levels are encouraged to apply by filling out an application here.

Auditing is open to the public for $30 a day if pre-registered before Oct. 19. Afterwards, the fee will increase to $40. Minors and college students with a current ID will receive a $5 per day discount on auditing registration. All auditors are invited to enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and water, while boxed lunches will be available to purchase for pre-registered auditors for $10 a day.

“We are excited to work with Albion College and I look forward to showing the public how David and I work together in a collaborative training effort,” Fyffe said.

Marcus and Fyffe have developed a strong reputation throughout the industry as positive and professional dressage coaches. They are highly sought-after clinicians who offer fresh perspectives grounded in systematic training methods, which emphasize the welfare of the horse. In addition to their training business based in Wellington, Florida, and their nationwide clinic program, the pair have also been featured instructors at The Mane Event Symposium and Equine Affaire, two of the largest equine educational events and trade fairs in North America.
