Phelps Media Group Welcomes World-Class Athletes Darragh Kenny and Hardin Towell of Oakland Stables to Client Roster

Wellington, Fla. – Feb. 22, 2019 – International equestrian public relations and marketing firm, Phelps Media Group, is pleased to announce the addition of Oakland Stables, run by Irish show jumper Darragh Kenny and American show jumper Hardin Towell, as the latest addition to its collection of high-profile equestrian clients. Based out of Wellington, Fla. and the Netherlands, Oakland Stables was originally formed by Kenny in 2012. Recently, Kenny and Towell decided to join forces in order to continue to help Oakland Stables grow and dominate the show jumping world with top results in the ring, sales of high-performance horses and their elite training program.

“The opportunity to work with two world-class athletes is enormously exciting for the whole team at Phelps Media Group. We are really looking forward to developing this relationship with Darragh, Hardin and Oakland Stables,” said Mason Phelps, founder and president of Phelps Media Group. “I think our team of professionals is a perfect fit to help Oakland Stables increase its presence both nationally and internationally, and we are proud to be working with such exceptional horsemen.”

Towell and Kenny, longtime friends and competitors in the ring, began their working relationship in 2018 after both having amassed successful careers individually. Together, the pair has elevated the Oakland Stables brand internationally.

As the son of two trainers, Kenny began competing in the sport of show jumping at the age of 10 in his homeland of Offaly, Ireland. After quickly working up the ranks in Ireland, where he competed in his first grand prix at age 14, Kenny moved to the United States to work under North Run. Over the next few years, Kenny continued his impressive climb with top placings in prestigious grand prix classes up and down the East Coast. He went on to represent Ireland in the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Normandy, France, where he placed twelfth individually aboard his first championship mount, Imothep. Kenny boasts an impressive resume of countless accolades, and he currently sits in the 20th spot on the Longines FEI World Rankings.

Towell, who comes from a very prominent equestrian family, made a name for himself in the equestrian world starting at a young age. Working through the ranks first in the hunter and equitation rings, Towell quickly became a professional with great results in the jumper ring. Some of his career highlights include attending the FEI World Cup™ Finals as a representative of the United States in 2015 and 2016, held in Las Vegas, USA and Gothenburg, Sweden, respectively. More recently, Towell has achieved success across the East Coast with Ann Thompson’s Carlo and Oakland Stables and Vlock Show Stables’ Sandetto.

Oakland Stables is currently competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, and will make appearances in the show ring at the Kentucky Horse Park and Spruce Meadows, among other competitive venues, this spring season. Through the remainder of the show year Towell will continue to compete throughout the United States while Kenny will travel to Europe.
