Traverse City, Mich. – June 7, 2019 – The 2019 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival presented by CaptiveOne invites you to attend its fifth annual event in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan, this summer and experience thrilling Olympic-caliber show jumping, shopping, food vendors and family fun!
The 2019 GLEF runs every Tuesday/Wednesday through Sunday each week from July 3-Aug. 11. The first Sunday of GLEF, kicking off in one month on July 7, will feature:
- $50,000 GGT Footing Grand Prix presented by JTWG, Inc./4G Surfaces
- 4H and Local Barn Day
- A performance by Parallel 45 Theatre
In addition, every Sunday is family day, offering a variety of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, including autograph sessions, face painting, shopping, dining, the ever-popular horseless horse show, farmers market and so much more!
Come watch past Olympians, professionals, amateurs, juniors and pony riders compete at the scenic Flintfields Horse Park! With grand prix competitions featuring some of the world’s top international horses and athletes competing every Sunday, the 2019 GLEF will also be highlighted by:
- Inaugural Dudley B. Smith Equitation Championship presented by Northern Pines Farm and created in memory of Dudley B. Smith, a noteworthy member of the community and friend to GLEF, on July 27
- $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Copper Fox LLC, on July 27 at 5 p.m.
- $133,700 CaptiveOne|Advisors Great Lakes Grand Prix CSI3* on Sunday, Aug. 11
Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate during the event and are required only for Sundays and on Saturday, July 27. Guests are welcome to attend the show for free throughout the week.
General admission tickets for the 2019 GLEF are $15 for adults, while tickets for military members and seniors are $10 and children under 12 are free.
Join the fun at Flintfields Horse Park and experience the heart-stopping thrill of grand prix show jumping each Sunday featuring top riders from across the country, and watch in style with a ringside VIP table for six complete with food and beverage services. GLEF is dedicated to giving back to the local Traverse City community and is pleased to offer nonprofit organizations the unique opportunity to enjoy a grand prix this summer at Flintfields Horse Park, while at the same time raising funds for their organization. Sell tickets to any Sunday grand prix and keep 50% of the proceeds!
