#PaintWellingtonOrange Kicks off with Successful WEF Lunch & Learn and Orange Party

Wellington, Fla. – Feb. 28, 2018 – Brooke USA officially kicked off its exciting, new initiative, “Paint Wellington Orange,” on Feb. 22, and with two fundraising events completed and many more to come this season, the initiative is already the talk of the town.

The color orange symbolizes Brooke USA’s vision of a world in which working horses, donkeys and mules are free from suffering. Restaurants and businesses around the Wellington, Florida, community are offering special discounts and donating a portion of their sales to support Brooke USA’s funding of equine welfare programs in the developing world. You can support Brooke USA’s initiative by shopping, eating or visiting any of their many “Paint Wellington Orange” partners across Wellington!

The next fundraising event in Brooke USA’s “Paint Wellington Orange” campaign will be held at Don Chepo’s Taco Shop on March 7. When you spend $20, Don Chepo’s Taco Shop will donate $5 to Brooke USA! March 1 also kicks off Brooke USA’s month-long benefit at California Pizza Kitchen as well as at 9Round Wellington Trace.

California Pizza Kitchen, located at the Mall at Wellington Green, is donating 20 percent of each check to Brooke USA when you mention you are ordering in support of Brooke USA.

In addition, 9Round Wellington Trace, located in the Courtyard Shops at Wellington, has launched a Brooke USA Burpee Challenge where you can challenge any member or trainer to do a burpee during their workout for each $1 donated!

What better way to make a difference in the lives of working equines around the world than by enjoying delicious food and taking care of yourself with a great workout? Brooke USA looks forward to seeing you at all of their upcoming events!

On Thursday, Feb. 22, Brooke USA hosted a Lunch & Learn in The Wellington Club during Week Seven of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), which featured a compelling presentation entitled “Global Impact Through Local Kindness: Ensuring Vital Futures for Equines and Their Human Partners.” The event served as the launch party for “Paint Wellington Orange.”

The event was part of the popular Lunch & Learn weekly series at WEF, which offers educational lectures to riders, owners, trainers and horse enthusiasts on a variety of equine related topics, and brought together speakers such as Brooke USA board member Katherine Bellissimo, Brooke UK’s Rachel Bhageerutty and Brendon Elliot as well as Brooke USA’s Emily Dulin and Kendall Bierer.

In addition, on Monday, Feb. 26, Brooke USA encouraged members of the Wellington community to party for a purpose at the lively Orange Party & Give Back Day event, hosted by Polo Bar & Grill, with 20 percent of guests’ brunch, lunch or dinner benefiting Brooke USA.

The evening featured live music from Tom Blake, signature cocktails and dancing, while guests wore orange in support of Brooke USA’s mission to improve the welfare of horses, donkeys and mules, and the people they serve, throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

The month-long “Paint Wellington Orange” initiative has partnered with businesses around the community such as Don Chepo’s Taco Shop, Wellington National Golf Club, The Grille, California Pizza Kitchen, 9Round Wellington Trace and AmTrust Bank to raise funds for Brooke USA. Anyone is welcome to attend these events, while a portion of what you spend will be donated to Brooke USA’s vital efforts to help working equines around the globe.
