Organizers of the American Gold Cup, presented by CaptiveOne Advisors, Announce New Location for 2020 Event

Traverse City, Mich. – Apr. 28, 2020 – The team at Traverse City Horse Shows (TCHS) is pleased to announce that Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City will be the new home of the world-renowned American Gold Cup, presented by CaptiveOne Advisors, LLC. The American Gold Cup is one of the most prestigious and iconic equestrian sporting events in the world of international show jumping, and 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the distinguished competition, which is sure to attract an international crowd to celebrate this important milestone in the event’s history. Over the course of the event’s tenure, it has showcased the talents of Olympic and World Champions, and many of those elite contenders will travel to Traverse City in 2020 for the American Gold Cup from Sept. 2 – 13.

For the first time in the history of the event, the American Gold Cup will feature two back-to-back weeks of FEI-rated show jumping, with Week 1 of the event taking place Sept. 2 – 6 as a CSI2*, followed by CSI4* competition for week two from Sept. 9 – 13. The first week of AGC will also feature the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, presented by The Davis McCullough Foundation. Now in its 9th year, the event has many times been recognized by the North American Riders Group as one of the country’s finest jumper shows.

For the first time ever, the event will welcome the addition of AA hunter competition in its schedule for both weeks of competition. Highlights of the event include:

September 2-6

  • Silver Oak Jumper Tournament (SOJT)
  • AA rated Hunters, Level 6 Jumpers and Equitation
  • $25,000 National Hunter Derby
  • $36,600 CSI2* SOJT Welcome Stake, presented by GGT Footing
  • $75,000 CSI2* SOJT Grand Prix, presented by Agero

September 9-13

  • AA rated Hunters, Level 6 Jumpers and Equitation
  • $25,000 National Hunter Derby
  • $36,600 CSI4* Staller Welcome Stake
  • $72,900 CSI4* American Gold Cup Qualifier
  • $36,600 CSI4* AGC Speed
  • $213,300 CSI4* American Gold Cup Grand Prix presented by CaptiveOne Advisors
  • $30,000 CaptiveOne Rider Bonus Finale (points based off 11 weeks of competition)
