Nilforushan Equisport Events Announces Two Weeks of World Champion Hunter Rider Competition in 2020

Temecula, Ca. – Nov. 14, 2019 – With the four weeks of exciting competition at the 2020 Temecula Valley National Horse Show already highly anticipated, the team behind the spring circuit is excited to announce that two of those weeks have been awarded the distinctions of World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) competitions. Hunter horses-and-riders will have the opportunity to vie for valuable points during the first WCHR week, which will take place during the 2020 kick-off week of competition from April 15-19, with the week of May 13-17 also featuring qualifying WCHR classes.
Nick Haness and Reese’s won multiple $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derbies  at the 2019 Temecula Valley National Horse Show.
“We were so excited to be able to offer one WCHR week to our exhibitors during our 2019 series, and to now be able to host two weeks of WCHR classes is a real honor. As a horse show that strives to provide the best possible experience for competitors, spectators and the community, this is another step in the right direction for us. As our show grows, we are able to provide new opportunities for horses and riders each year, and I’m thankful to the USHJA for allowing us to participate in this exciting program for our dedicated hunter athletes,” commented Ali Nilforushan, founder of Nilforushan Equisport Events.ter Derby in 2019.
The World Championship Hunter Rider Program was founded in 1992 to celebrate the hunter rider and their accomplishments. Through the collection of points at qualifying events held across the country throughout the year, WCHR Program Members qualify for National and Regional Awards. The coveted year-end final, the WCHR Final, takes place at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in October. The program includes year-end awards for Professionals, Developing Professionals, Amateur-Owners, Adult Amateurs, Juniors, Children’s and Pony riders. The country is divided into eight regions, with a maximum number of qualifying events in each one.

In the WCHR Southwest Region, to which the Temecula Valley National Horse Show belongs, there are only a handful of shows that are awarded WCHR weeks. Now with two WCHR weeks, half of its four-week schedule, to its name, Nilforushan Equisport Events’ circuit has solidified itself as a prominent supporter of hunter competitors. During the 2019 series, the horse show hosted four hunter derbies, and the exciting classes will make their return to Galway Downs in 2020.
