Nilforushan Equisport Events Adds World Champion Hunter Rider Week to Show Schedule

Temecula, Calif. – Dec. 4, 2018 – Following the highly-publicized success of the 2018 Temecula Valley National Horse Show series, managed and organized by Nilforushan Equisport Events, the team behind the spring circuit is proud to announce that the 2019 show will now feature four weeks of exciting competition, one of which will be a World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) week. From April 17 to 21, 2019, the initial week of the 2019 Temecula Valley National Horse Show series will feature qualifying WCHR classes and other hunter highlights.

Nicolas Haness and Screenplay were champions in the $10,000 Brookway Stables Hunter derby during the 2018 series.

“We are so excited to be able to grow our offerings for our hunter competitors, and we think a WCHR Week is the perfect way to do it. This adds another level of prestige to the Temecula Valley National Horse Shows, while allowing us to devote attention to hunter competitors at all levels,” commented Ali Nilforushan, founder of Nilforushan Equisport Events. “Our entire team is committed to making this show the best it can be in addition to enhancing the status of equestrian sport in California. We can’t wait to share with everyone the new and improved 2019 circuit!”

Founded in 1992, the World Championship Hunter Rider Program recognizes and celebrates the hunter rider. WCHR Program Members qualify for National and Regional Awards by earning points at qualifying events held across the country throughout the year in order to capture a slot in the WCHR Finals at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The program includes coveted year-end awards for Professionals, Developing Professionals, Amateur-Owners, Adult Amateurs, Juniors, Children’s and Pony riders. The country is divided into eight regions, with a maximum number of qualifying events in each one.

2018 hunter classes were held both in the ring and on the grass.
