MEDIA ALERT: Credentials Now Available for 2019 Upperville Colt & Horse Show

Upperville, Va. – May 2, 2019 – Media credential applications for the upcoming Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS), presented by St. Bride’s Farm, are now available online. Held at the Grafton and Salem Farm showgrounds in picturesque Upperville, Virginia, the annual seven-day event is the oldest horse show in the nation and is sure to be better than ever during its 166th anniversary.

Any members of the media wishing to cover this action-packed event must apply and be approved for credentials beforehand. The deadline to submit an application for media credentials is May 27.

Press credentials for the 166th UCHS are limited and will be issued at the discretion of the UCHS press secretary. Admission to the press area is restricted to those issued UCHS press credentials. These credentials are issued to media representatives to facilitate pre- and post-show coverage of the event, with priority going to members of the press who have assisted in pre-show coverage for the year.

This year’s show will run from Monday, June 3, through Sunday, June 9. The FEI-ranked CSI4* event boasts a Premier/AA and Jumper Rating Six classification with US Equestrian (USEF), the Virginia Horse Shows Association (VHSA) and the Maryland Horse Shows Association (MHSA) and is a World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) recognized show.

The 2019 UCHS will culminate with the highlight event, the $208,200 Upperville Jumper Classic CSI4*, presented by Lugano Diamonds, on the final day. Other feature classes throughout the week will include the $30,000 Upperville National Grand Prix, presented by the Palm Beach Masters Series, on Thursday, June 6, the $71,200 Welcome Stakes CSI4*, presented by the World Equestrian Center, on Friday, June 7, and the $35,700 Upperville Speed Stakes CSI4*, presented by GW & Wade, and $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Salamander Resort & Spa, on Saturday, June 8.
