MEDIA ALERT: Credentials and Invitations to Inaugural Media Day Now Available for 2019 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival

Traverse City, Mich. – June 10, 2019 – Organizers of the highly anticipated Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), presented by CaptiveOne, are pleased to officially be accepting applications for media credentials for the 2019 circuit. This year’s event will feature six consecutive weeks of world-class hunter, jumper and equitation competition from July 3-Aug. 11.

GLEF would also like to extend an invitation to all members of the local media to the 2019 GLEF Media Day on Friday, July 5, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Flintfields Horse Park. This inaugural event will be an excellent opportunity for members of the local media to learn more about all of the happenings during the upcoming GLEF season.
In addition to receiving a media credential pass and a brief run down of the schedule of events, attendees will learn more about the Olympic sport of show jumping from a professional rider, receive instructions on what to do when coming to cover the competitions on grand prix days (where to go, how to request interviews, reserve a media golf cart, etc.) and other resources to assist in your coverage of #GLEF2019! All attendees will be treated to a catered breakfast in the VIP Club and, as a token of our appreciation for attending, will receive two VIP passes for a Sunday grand prix. Media credential applications for the 2019 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, presented by CaptiveOne, are now being accepted!
Weeks III-VI will be FEI-rated competitions, featuring CSI2* and CSI3* grand prix events, with some of the world’s top international horses and athletes competing, concluding with the $133,700 CaptiveOne|Advisors Great Lakes Grand Prix CSI3* on Sunday, Aug. 11. With weekly derby competitions, the 2019 GLEF will also feature World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) week (Week II) as well as the inaugural Dudley B. Smith Equitation Championship, presented by Northern Pines Farm, and the 25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Copper Fox LLC, during Week IV in the Grand Prix Ring.
Any members of the media wishing to cover this action-packed event must apply and be approved for credentials.
