Las Vegas, Nv. – Nov. 21, 2016 – Last weekend, show jumping’s best gathered on the West Coast to face off in the World Cup qualifier at the Las Vegas National Horse Show CSI4*-W. Katherine Gallagher, M. Michael Meller and Dan Walsh of E2 Show Jumpers are proud to support the exciting World Cup event. This year, in addition to his sponsorship of the competition, Meller presented the M. Michael Meller Style Award to Eric Navet of France.
During Saturday’s $250,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Las Vegas CSI4*-W, Meller presented Navet with the award after the selection committee unanimously named him to the honor. The M. Michael Meller Style Award is presented each year to an international equestrian who exemplifies the best style of riding along with maintaining a sportsmanlike composure. Previous winners at events in 2015 and 2016 include Andres Rodriguez, Chloe Reid, Charlie Jacobs, Alison Robitaille and Conor Swail.
“I didn’t expect it, so it was a great surprise and a real honor for me to receive the M. Michael Meller Style of Riding Award,” Navet said. “I think riding with good style is important for the aesthetic of the sport. When you achieve harmony with your horse, everything gets a lot easier for me to ride and nicer for people to watch at the same time. I think it’s important that our sport looks good to people on the outside. We learn so much from watching, so if I can inspire people from that, I’m very glad.”
“Eric is a world-class rider and very deserving of this year’s award,” expressed Meller. “He’s a delight to come across at the horse show. Eric’s demeanor and the way he carries himself in this sport is truly remarkable.”
