As one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the United States (on 65 acres of showgrounds), and a premier destination for horse enthusiasts, the Hampton Classic is a much-anticipated stop on the summer tour. Now, well into its third successful decade, the Hampton Classic is in a class all of its own.
In 2009, the Hampton Classic became only the second horse show ever to receive the status of ‘Heritage’ competition by US Equestrian (USEF). This prestigious status is reserved for competitions that have been in existence for at least 25 years and have provided for their broader communities, as well as the horse community as a whole, in an unprecedented fashion.
At the Hampton Classic, you will see some of the top show jumping athletes from around the world competing for some of the richest prize money offered in the U.S.
However, there is also no shortage of stiff competition in the hunter divisions. In the four classic grass rings, you will find all skill levels competing from small ponies to the most seasoned professional riders.
The Hampton Classic is always a grand way to end the summer. Held in high regard by the equestrian community, it is famous for its celebrity sightings, proximity to some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast and countless high-end shopping boutiques.
Following the event, H&C TV will also be airing highlight shows from Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s competitions at the 2018 Hampton Classic Horse Show. The $75,000 Douglas Elliman Grand Prix Qualifier CSI4* highlight show will premiere on Monday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. EST, while the $70,000 Longines Cup CSI4* and $300,000 Hampton Classic Grand Prix Bridgehampton CSI4* will run on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. EST, respectively.
