Upperville, Va. – June 4, 2019 – The Green Hunter divisions took center stage under the oaks during the second day of the Upperville Colt& Horse Show (UCHS), presented by St. Bride’s Farm, on Tuesday. After nearly sweeping the division, Hunt Tosh and Baroness Betsee Parker’s Bordeaux claimed the Green 3’3” Hunter division championship, while the Green 3” Hunter division went to Scott Stewart riding Parker’s Charlemagne. Tosh and Bordeaux also rode to a first place finish in the USHJA Green 3’3” Hunter Incentive Stake, while Holly Orlando and Waverly, owned by Waypoint Farm, LLC, nabbed the blue ribbon in the USHJA Green 3′ Hunter Incentive Stake.

Colombia’s Mark Bluman took home the top honors aboard Imagine Van De Hermitage after completing the fastest double-clear effort against a world-class field of horses and athletes.

Caliburn Farm Hosts Inaugural $1,000 Free Jumping Championship

The inaugural $1,000 Free Jumping Championship took place Tuesday afternoon at Caliburn Farm, with judges for the exciting event featuring Paul Hendrix, Emile Spadone and André Thieme. Offered to eligible 3- and 4-year-olds, the $1,000 Free Jumping Championship, benefiting the 2019 UCHS, is designed to support the development of young jumpers in North America. Horses were awarded scores out of 10 for characteristics, including technique and scope in order to get an overall impression.
