Horses Healing Hearts Has Incredibly Successful White, White, West Fundraising Event

Wellington, Fla. – Mar. 2, 2017 – Horses Healing Hearts (HHH) had its most successful fundraiser to date last Friday at the Wellington National Golf Club. The 6th Annual White, White, West event raised over $100,000 for the Palm Beach County charity. HHH helps children raised in homes with addiction by using horses to teach empathy, trust, and life coping skills.

The Western-themed event drew guests from around the country to support the cause. Honorary chairs State Attorney Dave Aronberg, Roxanna Cella, State Senator Joseph Abruzzo, and philanthropist Victoria McCullough joined the 400+ crowd to enjoy the celebration and participate in the live and silent auction.

Tony Coppola, the voice of Wellington polo and owner of The Tackeria, narrated the live auction, which included an original painting by HHH participant Katie Behler, an Asado dinner for 30 people courtesy of Cilantro’s, and an award winning original painting, by Juan Manuel Nino.

Two of HHH participants, Farrah Fox and Dylan Armus spoke to the crowd about the impact of HHH on their lives.

“I have been with Horses Healing Hearts for seven years and if given the chance, I would like to never leave,” said Fox who is attending The University of Central Florida to study Aerospace Engineering. “They are a second family for me. Before HHH I was not confident and would never have been able to address a big crowd like this, but through HHH I learned to love myself and be more assertive.”

Dylan Armus shared how his experience at HHH helped his relationship with his mother and his desire to act as an ambassador for HHH in his school.

Founder and Executive Director of HHH, Liz Olszewski, recounted the founding of the program and how far the organization has come over the past seven years.

“When I started this program I had several close friends tell me that I would never be able to make this happen. Sitting here and looking at the over 400 people in this room, I think we have proved them wrong!” remarked Olszewski. “But I didn’t do it…the volunteers, the horses, the sponsor barns, our staff and all of you here did it. It truly takes a village.”

Olszewski then presented an award to equestrian and philanthropist, Victoria McCullough, to thank McCullough for her sustained support for HHH. “There is nothing small about the HHH challenge, in fact it is herculean. It has made such a difference in so many lives. It is truly captivating.” stated McCullough.

State Senator Joseph Abruzzo also addressed the crowd stressing the importance of the HHH mission.

The event would not have been possible without the hard work of the White, White West Fundraising Committee, Horses Healing Hearts’ Boards of Directors and our Honorary Chairs Dave Aronberg, Peter Wylde, and Roxanna Cella.

“Horses Healing Hearts is grateful to have such strong supporters backing our mission,” says HHH Chair Lisa Ruth, “Our staff and volunteers work year-round to help these children, and White, White, West is a tremendous opportunity to celebrate our success.”

All proceeds raised through WWW ticket sales, auction items and donations go directly to program expenses to benefit the participants of Horses Healing Hearts, a 501(c)3 charitable organization. HHH is the only program in the nation using horses to help the specific demographic of children whose parents suffer from alcoholism and addiction.
