London, U.K. – Sept. 27, 2019 – Back by popular demand, Horse & Country TV’s (H&C TV) high-anticipated documentary series, Vet Essentials, returns this September for its third season. The beloved and educational series consults top veterinarians who take an in-depth look at a variety of issues that affect the health and fitness of horses.
The opening episode, Understanding Ulcers, went live on H&C TV on Friday, September 20. The episode covers a common issue that many horses are faced with in their lifetime: ulcers. Olympic event rider William Fox-Pitt and internal medicine specialist Dicky Hepburn examine the prevalent issue and discuss the science behind ulcers, including why horses may be diagnosed with them, different treatment methods and what horse owners can do to help prevent them.
Premiering on Friday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. EST, the second episode tackles joint disease, the most common cause of pain and lameness in horses. Joint Disease in Horses features veterinary expert Rachel Read and Olympic Grand Prix dressage rider Richard Davidson, who dive deep into the definition of joint disease, why horses develop it, treatment options and preventative measures for equestrians to implement so that it does not prematurely develop in their horses.
As the third and final episode of the series, Medicine and Supplement Use: Protecting You and Your Horse, premieres on Friday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. EST. In the episode, well-known English television presenter Lissie Greenwood-Hughes hosts a panel discussion about clean sport, an initiative that aims to uphold the integrity of equestrian sport by prohibiting the use of substances that affect equine performance. Irish show jumping athlete Trevor Breen, British show jumping athlete William Whitaker and British dressage athlete Davidson join Greenwood-Hughes to sit down with a collection of world-class veterinarians to discuss the complicated subject.
Following the premiere of each episode, they will be made available for on demand streaming, only on Horse & Country TV.
