Gay Polo League Welcomes Black Hound Sports as Two-Time Official Supplier for GPL UK Tournament

Wellington, Fla. – Aug. 31, 2018 – The Gay Polo League (GPL) welcomes back Black Hound Sports (BHS) as its official apparel sponsor for the inaugural GPL UK tournament, to be held September 6-8, 2018 at Zacara Polo Grounds in Windsor. Black Hound Sports is an English-based polo apparel company that is highly regarded for being on the cutting edge of polo athletic wear. Known for their style, quality and original designs, BHS outfits many top national and international polo organizations with their team apparel such as Lucchese, Las Monjitas, La Indiana, Jaeger-LeCoultre and EFG polo teams, among others. The GPL is honored to be included in the prestigious roster of Black Hound Sports clients.

“We are truly ecstatic to continue our partnership with Black Hound Sports,” said GPL founder and president, Chip McKenney. “Complementing GPL’s desire to bring higher fashion to the polo field, Black Hound Sports has designed custom jerseys for all four teams that are brilliant, colorful and original. I was inspired to work with their brand after I saw their creative jersey designs on a high goal team in Wellington. I think it is great fun to bring a new visual to a traditional sport like polo.”

GPL and Black Hound Sports originally teamed up for the 9th Annual Land Rover Palm Beach International Gay Polo Tournament in Wellington, Florida, last April. As the official supplier, BHS provided the four competing teams with the most stylish jerseys to hit the polo market. Highly customizable without lacking quality, BHS apparel makes athletes highly identifiable on the polo pitch, while keeping team members cool on the sidelines. In addition to their outstanding jersey design, BHS offers horse apparel, accessories and gazebos, all with the ability to be personally crafted to your polo organization or club.

“We are all so excited to be working with the Gay Polo League here at Black Hound Sports,” said Sebastian Sebaj, owner and founder of Black Hound Sports. “What Chip and the GPL team have achieved within polo over the last 10 years is amazing, and their focus on inclusion rather than exclusion is to be admired in this sometimes misunderstood game. Partnering in 2018 will not only be an honor, but it will also see our partnership create some exciting identity both on and off the field.”

Be sure to mark your calendars for the inaugural GPL tournament of England. This year’s tournament will be located at the picturesque Zacara Polo Club located at Shurlock Row, Reading RG10 OPP. Four teams consisting of 12 GPL players from around the world are eager to make the trek to England, and extend an invitation to the public to join them Saturday, September 8, 2018, for two afternoon polo matches. The matches will begin at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and admission is free, so join the fun and cheer on your favorite teams!

GPL is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and is thrilled to host this annual charity event once again, with the proceeds going to help those within the LGBTQ youth community.
