Buffalo, N.Y. – Aug. 31, 2018 – The 72nd annual Buffalo International Horse Show (BIHS) is thrilled to announce the exciting items that will be featured during this year’s silent auction. The historic horse show runs Sept. 12–16 and not only offers top tier competition, but also acts as the largest fundraiser of the year for the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center (BTRC).
The BTRC is a therapeutic riding program open to children of all socio-economic backgrounds. The positive, friendly and safe atmosphere enables children with special needs and disabilities to develop both physically and emotionally through forming a special bond with the horses they ride each week.
Each year, the BTRC hosts the Buffalo International Horse Show, raising crucial funds for the therapeutic program. Last year’s competition was a sell-out event, featuring some of the nation’s top professional, junior and amateur-owner riders. The silent auction is always a fan-favorite with one-of-a-kind items up for grabs.
Featured auction items at the 2018 BIHS include:
- Weekend in wine country – Enjoy a weekend at Seneca Vista on Seneca Lake. This beautiful home boasts panoramic views of Seneca Lake from each room. A great get away for friends and family, this lakeside home sleeps 10 people comfortably. Currently booking for the 2019 season.
- Westin Hotel – Buffalo, New York – This item includes a one-night stay at the elegant four-star hotel, centrally located near downtown Buffalo, New York, and dinner for two at Patina 250, the Westin’s award-winning restaurant.
- BikeorBar classes – BikeorBar is the first spinning/indoor cycling studio of its kind in Buffalo, New York. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art workout technology coupled with five high-definition TVs and a dynamic sound system with reactive lighting to keep you engaged throughout any workout. Indoor rowing, crosSPIN and anti-gravity yoga are also offered.
- MoondanceCat boat tour – MoondanceCat offers plenty of room for tanning, listening to their out-of-this-world sound system and drinking from their well-stocked wetbar. MoondanceCat puts wind in the sails of excitement on beautiful Lake Erie.
- Lunch for two – Daniela’s Restaurant – Delicious gourmet lunch for two.
- Power Yoga Buffalo – Valued at $150, Power Yoga Buffalo is an energetic, powerful, challenging style that builds in flow with laughter and playfulness. Each class challenges and clears your mind, while strengthening and toning your body. This package includes a 10-class pass, yoga mat and water bottle.
- Shopping party at Cats Like Us – Invite 10 friends to a shopping party to learn the best styles for your body and how to get a funky, retro look. This silent auction item includes a $100 gift certificate.
- Evening at Salvatore’s – Great food, amazing atmosphere and fine wine can all be yours at Salvatore’s Italian restaurant! This package includes a five-course dinner for four with wine pairings.
- Buffalo Bison’s package – Your game starts with a ceremonial first pitch from your family and includes four tickets, hot dogs and sodas!
- Road Less Traveled Theater season tickets – Valued at $300, this item includes a subscription for two season tickets at the Road Less Traveled Theater. The 2018–2019 season starts in September and runs through May.
- Booze cooler – Valued at $650 and donated by friends of the BTRC, this silent auction item is filled with a variety of mixers and alcoholic beverages. It is the perfect kit for your end of summer party!
- Wine basket – Valued at $125, this basket contains seven bottles of wine with varying whites and reds!
- Laser lipo sessions from Mind and Body Family Health Center – Valued at $920, this package includes two gift certificates for three sessions of laser fat removal as well as a chair massage. There is no surgery or downtime and it is safe (FDA approved) and painless.
- Diamond necklace and earrings – Beautiful jewelry donated by King of Diamonds.
- Signed hockey stick and Sabres tickets – Donated by Sharon O’Neill, this silent auction item includes a hockey stick signed by Buffalo Sabres player Justin Bailey and two tickets to a Sabres game.
- Kids lifestyle photography session – Ginny Rose Stewart is a photographer who aims to create images documenting the unscripted, intimate, everyday moments as a way to reconnect to memories that might have otherwise passed us by. Through these intimate photographs she hopes her clients find ways to get to know themselves all over again.
- Chef’s dinner package – Donated by Lou Billitier, this item includes dinner and drinks for six at one of Buffalo’s favorite neighborhood Italian restaurants!
- Fiesta-themed cooler – Filled with a variety of tequila, rum and liqueur, this fiesta-themed cooler is the perfect kit for margaritas and mojitos!
