Emma Asher and Juan Matute Guimon Honored with Trilogy Performance Saddlery’s Best Seat Awards During Adequan Global Dressage Festival

Wellington, Fla. – March 29, 2018 – Trilogy Performance Saddlery is pleased to announce Emma Asher aboard Traneenggaards Akondo and Juan Matute Guimon aboard Copernico Ymas as the recipients of their Best Seat Awards due to their top performances during CDI competitions at the 2018 Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF).

In order to win Trilogy Performance Saddlery’s Best Seat Award, a rider must demonstrate an effective, independent seat, ride in a well-fitting saddle that enhances the performance of the horse as well as the rider and have a horse with a pleasant overall appearance. Each winner of the award was selected by CDI judges.

“Both of these riders embody what it means to have a good seat,” Debbie Witty of Trilogy Performance Saddlery explained. “I am proud to sponsor this award to increase awareness of how a properly fitted saddle, along with a correct, effective seat, can enhance your horse’s performance. Most of the riders who win this award are near the top placings in their respective classes because their horse can perform better when the rider’s seat encourages correct movement and doesn’t hinder it.”

Asher and Traneenggaards Akondo competed in the CDI Junior division during Week Seven of AGDF, where they earned high scores and placed in the top three on both days of competition. Asher’s impressive riding and her gelding’s overall appearance stood out to the judges and she was rewarded for her efforts with Trilogy Performance Saddlery’s Best Seat Award.

“I believe that having a correct seat is the basis of being a good dressage rider,” Asher said. “It allows you to feel and communicate with your horse, and it was nice to be recognized for something that I have been working on and is so essential to being a good rider.”

Spain’s Matute Guimon and Copernico Ymas competed in the CDI Young Rider division during Week Eight of AGDF, where the pair dazzled the judges to receive scores up to 69.757 percent to top both of their classes.

“I was very happy to receive the Trilogy Best Seat Award,” Matute Guimon explained. “I think having a good seat is one of the most important qualities in a rider. My philosophy of riding is based more on the seat with every other aid secondary. I really believe that if you have a strong seat, you can help your horse’s gaits flow more and if you have no seat, there is no flow. I was very delighted when I found out I received this award. My seat is something I’ve been working on for a long time, and it’s something all top riders work continuously to improve. I’m honored that it showed through to the judges.”
Trilogy Performance Saddlery will continue to award riders who showcase effective seats throughout the United States at various dressage competitions in 2018, including the GAIG/USDF Region 8 Dressage Championships in September.
