Devon, Pa. – May 25, 2018 – The second day of Junior Weekend at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair brought top junior riders together for another chance to claim winning prizes and carve their names into Devon history. This year, it was 15-year-old Elli Yeager who secured first place honors in Section C of the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship class and was awarded the prestigious R.W. “Ronnie” Mutch Equitation Championship high-point award for earning the highest score of 23 points.
Under the lights in the Dixon Oval, 17-year-old Paige Matthies of Lake Leelanau, Michigan, and Barbara Smith’s Dirkie Z claimed round two, sponsored by Fusion Academy, of the coveted Junior Jumper championship to conclude competition on Friday at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair.
The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is the longest running and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. With the grandeur of Philadelphia’s prestigious Main Line setting the stage, the event features a world-class field that annually ranks among the most prominent internationally. The event also includes the country fair, which benefits Bryn Mawr Hospital and has donated over $14 million to date. The country fair offers world-class shopping, rides, games, multiple dining options and special entertainment events.
