Returning for its seventh year, the Devon Fall Classic benefits the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Foundation, a tax-exempt nonprofit organization that maintains the historic Devon show grounds.

The Fall Classic begins each day at 8 a.m. with the equestrian competitions, with the exception of Saturday when the Dixon Oval kicks off the day at 7:30 a.m. In between the jumpers and the equestrian excitement, the Devon Fall Festival will provide a taste of autumn in Pennsylvania, featuring a selection of unique shops, the Midway with carnival games, and kid-friendly food throughout the evening during the week and throughout the day over the weekend.

Highlighting this year’s event are the Friday and Saturday evening sessions. Friday’s main event will be the Open Jumper Speed Stake. On Saturday night, the $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix takes center stage, preceded by the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Classic for the top Junior and Amateur Owner Jumper riders.

The daytime events provide a wide variety of jumper classes, ranging from the age group jumpers, including 5, 6 and 7-Year-Old Young Jumper sections, to the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers and the Child/Adult Jumpers. Pony Jumpers are also scheduled on the weekend.

The Bar Spoon Beverage Co.will also offer special tastings of their craft mixers Friday’s live entertainment will feature the classic rock, party band Knock One Back.

On Saturday, guests can enter the 1st Annual Devon Fall Classic Chili Contest and there will be more live entertainment in the picnic grove, with Prime Time playing dance music from the 1960s – 1990s.

The weekend concludes with Sunday Brunch where guests can enjoy a late breakfast catered by Wild Blue Creative Catering after a fun-filled weekend. While there will be special events each day for children, Sunday is “Kids Rule” day, featuring pony rides, crafts and a stick horse jumping course.

When the show concludes on Sunday, it is time to shop for some amazing bargains on Fall plants. All plants used to decorate the ring and show grounds are sold at incredible prices and supplied by one of the best-known nurseries in the area, Main Line Gardens.

The Main Line is a beautiful place to travel to in September. We hope you will pay a visit to one of America’s newest horse shows, held at one of the oldest and most historic show grounds in the world.
