Nordic Lights Farm Continues to Top Horse Shows By the Bay

Traverse City, MI – July 17, 2012 – Nordic Lights Farm continued to be a dominating force during the second week of Horse Shows By the Bay in Traverse City, MI. Eirin Bruheim led the way in the amateur ranks, taking home wins in the High and Low Amateur-Owner/Junior Jumper divisions. She also competed in the $10,000 Welcome Prix and the $30,000 Grand Traverse Bay Grand Prix with her talented mounts to nab top ribbons in each event. Lene Bruheim showed in the Children’s Jumpers, placing third aboard Jessika.

The $30,000 Grand Traverse Bay Grand Prix was the week’s highlight event, where Eirin competed with Cicero 75 and Tackeray. After a clean and swift jump-off effort, Eirin and Cicero 75 claimed the third place award. An unfortunate rail with Tackeray over the short course would prove costly, knocking them just out of the ribbons into 13th. During the $10,000 Welcome Prix, Tackery was in top form to claim the fifth place honors, while Cicero 75 took home the eighth place prize.

Earlier in the week, Eirin placed first and second with Cicero 75 and Tackeray, respectively, in the High Amateur-Owner/Junior Jumpers. Her efforts with Cicero 75 scored the reserve championship. In the Low Amateur-Owner/Junior Jumpers, Eirin was aboard NLF Trans Atlantic, where she claimed another blue ribbon, as well as sixth place award in the Classic to take home the championship honors.

“This week was amazing,” expressed Eirin. “My horses are loving it up here and are performing so well; I could not be happier. Cicero 75 and Tackery were both awesome in the big classes and they tried really hard for me. I was extremely happy with NLF Trans Atlantic in the Lows, he continues to put in excellent rounds. Overall it was a packed and rewarding weekend.”

Lene also showed this week in the Children’s Jumpers riding Jessika and NLF Valhall. She had an unfortunate four faults aboard NLF Valhall, but Jessika was quick and clean to pick up the third place award. “Jessika and Pal were super this weekend,” noted Lene. “Jessika was reliable and clean and super fast. I\'m starting to understand her better. Pal was amazing as usual. We had an unfortunate late rail, but he was a trooper.”

The horses and riders of Nordic Lights Farm will continue to compete at Horse Shows By the Bay this month, before heading to Lexington, KY, for the Kentucky Summer Series.

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, that was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 19-year-old Eirin Bruheim and 17-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
