SBS Farms, Inc. Prepares For Kentucky Spring Horse Shows

Buffalo, NY – May 2, 2012 – SBS Farms is looking forward to an exciting two weeks of competition at the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows, beginning next week, May 9, 2012, held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Last year, professional rider and trainer, Jennifer Alfano guided Jersey Boy to the championship in the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. They look forward to seeing what the competition will bring for them this year.
Katherine Karrer plans on showing the Oldenburg gelding, Contifax, in the Adult Amateur Hunter divisions. This will be the first year that Karrer will show at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show. She has earned top ribbons throughout the Fall and Winter circuits aboard her mount, and Kentucky will be a new challenge for the pair.
Alfano will be returning to the Kentucky Horse Park with all of her top mounts, including her most recent addition, the six-year-old Warmblood mare, Looking Glass. SBS Farms took a short break over the last few weeks to refresh the horses after a competitive winter circuit, and now with they are prepared to enter the ring with a spirited fervor.
The SBS Farms team will continue on to Devon, PA, for the 2012 Devon Horse Show and County Fair from May 24 – June 3, 2012. Alfano will once again show all of her top mounts including Helen Lenahan’s Miss Lucy, Billie Steffee’s Maggie May, Sharon O’Neill’s Rose Hill, Jersey Boy and Looking Glass. For SBS Farms, the spring/summer season is only beginning, and they are ready for action.
Based out of Buffalo, NY, SBS Farms’ Susie Schoellkopf and Jennifer Alfano run one of the foremost show hunter training operations in the country, and travel nationwide to compete in the nation’s most prestigious horse shows. SBS Farms, Inc. continues the proud tradition of the Saddle and Bridle Club as one of the top show stables in the northeast. Schoellkopf is also the Executive Director of the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center, which houses both The Buffalo Equestrian Center as well as SBS Farms.
