Wellington, FL- March 16, 2012- Olympic Silver Medalist, Peter Leone will lead a hunt seat clinic for the Gettysburg College Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Team on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, hosted by Goucher College.
The Gettysburg IHSA Team has been volunteering their time and horsemanship skills to help an abandoned herd of Thoroughbreds that were seized by the by the Adams County, PA Society for the Protection of Animals (SPCA). After eight were adopted to new homes, ten yearlings remain. The Gettysburg IHSA Team won the new IHSA Community Service Project Award in lieu of their work, caring for the ten yearlings.
Leone will teach two group sessions, one for the host, Goucher College IHSA Team and one for Gettysburg College IHSA Team service award winners.
Peter Leone is an Olympic equestrian, trainer, producer of hunter/jumper instructional DVDs and author. He owns and operates Lionshare Farm in Greenwich, CT. His clients successfully compete in the pony, equitation, hunter and jumper divisions. He is one of three brothers, internationally known as Team Leone, for their success in the show ring. Leone was a member of the 1996 Silver Medal United States Olympic Show Jumping Team and winner of numerous national and international Grand-Prix show jumping competitions. The book, Peter Leone’s Show Jumping Clinic: Success Strategies for Equestrian Athletes by Peter Leone and Kim Jaussi PhD, is due out next month.
