James H. Fairclough Officiates Coin Toss For Third Leg of Ylvisaker Cup

Written by: Kendall Bierer
Client: Jimmy Fairclough
Release Date: 2012-02-17

Wellington, FL – February 17, 2012 – As the third leg of the 20 Goal Tournament, the Ylvisaker Cup, gets underway this Sunday at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, it will be Full Metal Jousting’s James Fairclough II who will decide the fate of the coin toss. Fairclough will be officiating the esteemed toss, reserved for honored guests and celebrities, determining which team will take control of the ball at the start of the match.

Airing later in the evening, the 10-part series, Full Metal Jousting, will have its second episode on the History Channel. The show features sixteen of the toughest warriors in the country, competing in a pulverizing battle. The all-new one-hour series will begin at 10 p.m., and Fairclough will make his jousting debut in its inaugural season.

The series features full-contact jousts with competitors going head-to-head on horseback in brutal tests of strength, endurance and courage. High-speed cameras capture every un-choreographed arduous blow as jousters charge and collide at 30 miles per hour. The last man standing takes home a $100,000 cash prize.

“I am honored to have been asked to participate in the coin toss,” Fairclough stated. “It is a really unique opportunity for me to be able to reach out to disciplines other than the show jumpers and hunters. This is such a privilege to have been asked, and I look forward to the Ylvisaker Cup.”

Fairclough has an extensive background of impressive wins on his riding resume. In 2008, he was the Cacchione Cup Champion at the IHSA National Championships. He was also an occasional rider on Zealous, owned by Mary Chapot, 2010 WEF Circuit Champion, and 2010 USEF 6-Year-Old Young Jumper Horse of the Year, as well as 2011 WEF Circuit Champion for 7-Year-Olds, and 2011 USEF 7-Year-Old Young Jumper Horse of the Year. In 2011, James rode Starquest, owned by Mary Chapot, to the 2011 Six-Year-Olds Circuit Championship. He also was the co-rider of Zealous, who was awarded the 2011 WEF Circuit Champion for the Seven and Eight-Year-Olds, as well as Horse of the Year for the Seven and Eight-Year-Olds in 2011.

This year, Fairclough is looking forward to training Kira Kerkorian and Brooke Banks at the prestigious Winter Equestrian Festival. For more information about Cavalier Show Jumping, please contact Fairclough by calling 862-686-0203 or e-mail cavalierjumping@gmail.com.
