Wellington, FL (December 15, 2011) – The World Dressage Masters Palm Beach presented by International Polo Club Palm Beach, has contracted International Polo Club (IPC) Catering, a company renowned for top-unsurpassed cuisine and flawless event planning, as the official caterer of the 2012 WDM Palm Beach. The World Dressage Masters presented by Axel Johnson Group is the world’s premier dressage series. The WDM Palm Beach is the only WDM event outside of Europe, as well as North America’s first and only annual five star FEI dressage competition.
At the 2011 WDM Palm Beach, IPC Catering presented a lavish French-themed evening for guests, who were treated to an evening of fine cuisine and wine from France while enjoying some of the world’s most successful dressage horses and riders perform Musical Freestyles just feet from the ringside tables. The theme for the 2012 WDM Palm Beach has been expanded to encompass the whole of Europe, in keeping with the international field of competitors who will travel with their horses from Germany, The Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden and elsewhere in Europe to the most exciting dressage competition in North America.
Catering and food services have been extended to all three days of the 2012 WDM Palm Beach. For spectators in the VIP Table sections, lunch will be provided on all three days. The European culinary experience will culminate with a spectacular evening featuring the cuisine of Europe on the evening of January 28th, during the Grand Prix Freestyle. For General Admission ticket holders, gourmet food trucks will provide a wide range of fine food options throughout the three days of the WDM Palm Beach.
“The 2011 World Dressage Masters Palm Beach was a one of a kind event, second to none in the dressage world in Wellington,” says WDM Palm Beach Ambassador Carol Cohen. “This year it promises to be even better. We have taken into consideration the suggestions people have made and feel that the improvements to this year’s WDM Palm Beach will make it an even more spectacular experience for the spectators and competitors.”
Several of the world’s top ranked dressage riders have already confirmed their intentions to compete at the 2012 WDM Palm Beach, including the defending champion, Steffen Peters of the US and his World Cup Champion partner, Akiko Yamazaki’s Ravel. Peters will face the greatest of rivals in Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath, who will ride the current world record-holding horse Totilas, the only horse ever to score 90% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. Totilas will make an exclusive North American appearance at the 2012 WDM Palm Beach.
A total of 20 horses and riders from across North America and Europe will compete for the greatest purse in North American dressage, €100,000 (US $130,000). The highlight of the WDM Palm Beach will be the Grand Prix Freestyle on the evening of January 28th, where the top eight pairs from the Grand Prix test the previous day will perform their custom-choreographed musical programs.
A very limited number of Tables and General admission tickets remain on sale for the 2012 WDM Palm Beach. The event promises to be even more spectacular than in 2011, when tickets sold out in a single week. This is the not-to-be-missed dressage event of the season in South Florida.
