Founded by Miki Cohen, Horse Expo Events is the leading producer of the equestrian trade shows in the country. In 2012, Horse Expo Events will produce Horse Expo Ponoma Schedule for February 2-4, 2012, and later in the year will host the annual Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, CA, from June 8-10, 2012.
Each of these events offer guests the ability to attend many horsemanship clinics each day, showcasing the nation’s most popular trainers and clinicians. Horse Expo Events focuses on creating a fair atmosphere that offers something for everyone, from delicious food, to live music and competitive events. One of the main highlights this year will be the Horse Expo University, a new addition that creates a classroom environment for education taught by professors from various universities around the country.
An avid Endurance rider, Cohen is the founder of The Western States Horse Expo and Horse Expo Events. When the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC) moved their conference from Reno, NV, to the East Coast, Cohen decided to host her own conference, which proved to be a huge success. After spending fours years as the AERC Executive Director, Cohen changed directions and decided to found the Western States Horse Expo.
“When you visit our events you come and you stay, you sit and eat in the food court, you listen to music, it’s like a fair, but it also really focuses on education,” noted Cohen. “It’s truly an experience. We create an environment for you to become educated and also socialize with your friends. We have a clinicians, horse sales, art sale, trailer sales, anything you can imagine.”
Cohen added, “Endurance riders and Event riders are the most educated horsemen out there when it comes to the care of their mounts. You have to be self-sufficient and know how to care for your horses, we have to do it all ourselves. I started the Western States Horse Expo because I realized that everyone would like to be that way with his or her horses, and education is the way to do that!”
Horse Expo Events will be organizing the Horse Expo Ponoma for the first time after an invitation from the Fairplex to continue the exciting event. Scheduled for February 2-4, 2012, it will feature the many of the same events, clinicians, and exhibits as the very popular Western States Horse Expo. The headlining presented for 2012 include Pat and Linda Parelli, Richard Winters, Kerry Kuhn, Eitan Beth-Halachmy, Dr, Christian Schacht, Dr. Clair Thunes, Larry Whitesell, Lydia Hiby, Charles Wilhelm, David Bodin, and Bonnie Davis.
