Wellington, FL –March 9, 2011 – For two weeks, top riders Eirin and Lene Bruheim traveled to the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center to show their talented mounts in both the hunter and jumper divisions at one of the countries’ best equestrian competitions. The sisters each earned top placings in the most difficult divisions against some of the nation’s top horse and rider combinations.

Week Eight of WEF was Nations Cup Week, and Eirin represented her home country of Norway during the CSIO competitions. She competed with her talented mount Cicero 75 in the $31,000 WEF Challenge Cup Series and the $150,000 Wellington, Equestrian Realty CSIO 4* Grand Prix, the up-and-coming riders first 4* event. Eirin was also victorious with Qarco V’T Merelsnest in the Medium Amateur-Owner Jumper division, winning the blue over 51 other exhibitors, and placed fifth with NLF Trans Atlantic.

During Week Seven, Eirin earned top ribbons in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper division aboard NLF Trans Atlantic. She also competed in the Medium Amateur-Owner Jumper division with Qarco V’T Merelsnest where the duo had an excellent round for the ninth place award. On Saturday night, she competed with Cicero 75 in the $78,000 Fidelity Investments CSI 2* Grand Prix, after showing in the $31,000 1.45m Open Jumper class.

“WEF was a great show,” commented Eirin. “I felt like I made so much progress in my riding and I have new goals in mind for this year. The FEI classes were an eye opener but it instilled my confidence in Cicero and his ability to take me to higher competition levels in the future.”

Lene also successfully competed in the hunter and jumper divisions during Weeks Seven and Eight of WEF. She showed NLF Casabella to top ribbons in the Children’s Hunter Horse 15-17 division and the WEF Open Hunter 3’ division. The duo took home a third place ribbon, a sixth place ribbon, and two eighth place ribbons. Lene also showed her talented mount NLH Valhall in the Low Junior Jumpers, where the pair place third out of 38 competitors during Week Eight.

“WEF was a really good experience for both my horses and for myself,” noted Lene. “It was challenging but not over the top and both my horses were very good. NLF Valhall put his all in for me both weeks, and NLF Casabella was amazing as well.”

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, that was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 18-year-old Eirin Bruheim and 16-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
