Red Rock Hounds to Demonstrate Fox Hunting at $25,000 Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby

Written by: Lindsay McCall
Client: Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby http://www.fmhunterderby.com/fmhd2011/
Release Date: 2010-09-02

Carson City, NV– September 2, 2010- As spectators admire the beautiful $25,000 Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby course set upon the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range they will be treated to a display of the sport of fox hunting. Lynn Lloyd and her team at Red Rock Hounds from Reno, NV, will be parading 50 of her fabulous Walker Hounds on horseback prior to the derby. Lloyd will demonstrate and explain the excitement of fox hunting, the hounds, and the tradition of this wonderful sport. This event will take place at 12:00 p.m. with the derby beginning at 1:00 p.m. on September 19, 2010.

Lloyd began hunting in England where she became enamored with fox hunting. She explained, “The first time I heard the call of a hound something inside me came alive. I have not stopped hunting since.” Shortly after returning to the United States, Lloyd established Red Rock Hounds in 1980. Over the years her unique western approach to fox hunting has become legendary in the fox hunting world. “I feel as though I am the luckiest person on the face of the earth. We have so much land to hunt on in Nevada that you cannot believe it. You never have to stop the hounds or the horses and it is the best way to see nature and the beautiful state of Nevada.”

Lloyd enjoys encouraging those who would like to try the sport of fox hunting. “When a person begins fox hunting I just want them to love the sport,” Lloyd smiled. “Whether they are riding a thoroughbred or a gaited horse or riding Western or English, I just want them to experience the excitement of fox hunting.”
