Traverse City, MI-July 28, 2010- Horse Shows by the Bay will feature the Hunter Jumper Association of Michigan (HJAM) Equitation Medal Finals this Saturday, July 30, during the third and final week of hunter/jumper competition at Flintfields Horse Park. Polly Howard and Equus Ltd are the sponsors for this event and look forward to the great competition.
“It is a really nice thing for the kids to get to do. It is really great that they put the classes in the big ring so the kids get to have a great experience. This is a beautiful horse show to be at; the weather is perfect, and there are a lot of fun things to do here,” commented Polly Howard.
All three finals, which include the HJAM Limit Junior Medal, the HJAM Adult Medal, and the HJAM Open Junior Medal, will take place in the Grand Prix ring on Saturday, right before the $30,000 D-BRAIDER Cherry Capital Classic Grand Prix. This gives those competing the chance to take center stage at Horse Shows by the Bay.
“The HJAM has been around for 55 years and over those years, we have had quite a few wonderful riders come through Michigan,” said Patricia Haines, chairman of the HJAM. “We take all the horse shows from the circuit, add up the points, and invite the top 12 kids to ride against each other. This is our last horse show of the season, which is why we wanted to hold the finals here. It is absolutely magical.”
The HJAM Equitation Medal Finals will be taking place during the CANTER-MI Silent Auction. There will also be an exhibitor’s party sponsored by Meijer.
