HITS Congratulates John Fogerty on "Centerfield" Hall of Fame Induction
Written by: Kenneth Kraus/ PhelpsSports.com. Client:HITS-on-the-Hudson and Culpepper Release Date:2010-07-26
Saugerties, New York - July 26, 2010 - Excitement continues to build as we move closer and closer to the big weekend in Saugerties, New York, featuring the unprecedented Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix, followed by the live concert with rock superstar John Fogerty.
Speaking of Fogerty, HITS, Inc. would like to send out special congratulations to our star entertainer, as his hit song, Centerfield was just inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday in Cooperstown, New York.
The Baseball Hall of Fame said that the induction of Centerfield marks the first time a musician or a song has ever been celebrated as a part of the festivities.
Fogerty himself is a long-time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Centerfield celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and has been a major part of stadium productions for baseball teams of every level, across the country and around the world.
Regarding the inspiration for his hit song, Fogerty was quoted recently as saying, "There'd be some guy out there, maybe a pitcher, or somebody else maybe not doing so well. And there be like a rookie, sitting on the bench, and I would transform me into that guy," he said. "I would always yell at the TV, 'Put me in coach, put me in!' "
Fogerty's concert and the record shattering Pfizer Million will follow the world-class hunter/jumper competition that will be held the week of September 8-11, 2010 at the HITS-on-the-Hudson show grounds in Saugerties, New York.
As the Road to the Pfizer Million draws to a close on September 11, you won't want to miss the opportunity to watch riders take one last shot at qualifying for the Pfizer Million with the $50,000 Pfizer Million Wild Card FEI World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix. The lucky winner of the Wild Card, who is not already qualified, will be placed in the running for the single largest purse the world of show jumping has ever seen as they too will have their name added to the Pfizer Million roster.
Sunday, September 12, 2010, will welcome two legendary events as the world's top horses and riders vie for top honors in the unprecedented Pfizer Million, and, immediately following the class, the remarkable rock and roll musician John Fogerty takes the stage to play a number of his top hits, including: Proud Mary, Down On The Corner, Midnight Special, Fortunate Son, Who'll Stop The Rain, Rock and Roll Girls, Bad Moon Rising, Susie Q, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Up Around The Bend, and of course, Centerfield.
VIP accommodations are available in two locations, The Pfizer Million Clubhouse and the Chalets-on-the-Finish Line, and will be run by the phenomenally talented VIP team of Bobby Drennan and Chris Pace.
