Hagyard Equine Medical Institute Recognizes Sponsors of the 2010 $50,000 Leading Rider Award

Lexington, KY- May 13, 2010- On Thursday evening, May 13, 2010 the first of five grand prix events in the Hagyard Challenge Series will occur. The Hagyard Challenge Series is a series of grand prix events that are part of the Kentucky Horse Shows at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Each week competitors will race to accumulate the most points for the final prize of the $50,000 Leading Rider Award. This award would not be possible without many generous sponsors including presenting sponsor Adequan®; Dean Dorton Ford; Pfizer Animal Health; Hagyard Flex-Tra 200; Kathleen Sullivan, CIMA, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Turf Town Properties; Audi of Lexington; and The Spa at Griffin Gate Resort.
Dates of the Hagyard Challenge Series are as follows:
May 13: $30,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic Grand Prix
May 20: $30,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic, CSI 2*
July 29: $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic
August 5: $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic
August 20: $50,000 Hagyard CSI-W Lexington Grand Prix
All grand prix classes will offer the same points. The points are awarded as follows: 1st place-250. 2nd-170, 3rd-120, 4th-100, 5th-80, 6th-70, 7th-60, 8th-50, 9th-40, 10th-30-, 11th-20, 12th-10.
The Hagyard Challenge Series $50,000 Leading Rider Award will be presented following the final event, the $50,000 Hagyard CSI-W Lexington Grand Prix on August 20, 2010. For many of these sponsors the Leading Rider Award has been a program that they have been a part of for consecutive years. Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is excited and grateful that they can list these sponsors names and logos as part of the Hagyard Challenge Series.
