Wellington, FL –January 5, 2010- Phelps Media Group, Inc. (PMG), an equestrian PR firm based in Wellington, Florida, welcomes another new face, account executive Lindsay McCall. McCall, of Canfield, Ohio, joins PMG with a background in the equestrian industry, as well as experience in both photography and marketing.
McCall began riding at age six, competing on the Hunter/ Jumper “A” circuit throughout her equestrian career. She has ridden with many different trainers over the years including Betsy Lewis from Chagrin, Ohio and Patrick Bostwick from Cleveland, Ohio. One of McCall’s ponies was the infamous Touch Me Not, a large pony hunter that took her from winning the “A” shows to Pony Finals. After leaving the ponies and entering into the Adult Amateurs McCall continued to compete with her Thoroughbred all the way through college. Upon entering college McCall rode on The Ohio State Equestrian Team while also serving as the Club Secretary. Even though The Ohio State Equestrian Team is not yet considered a Varsity sport, McCall was selected to compete in varsity trials at colleges, which included Fresno State and Georgia University.
“Riding multiple types of horses from green Warmbloods to hard mouthed Thoroughbreds taught me how to read horses the moment I sit on them,” explained McCall. Upon graduating in 2007 with a major in Animal Science and a minor in business, she began working at AT&T in Columbus, Ohio as a Marketing Manager. McCall remarked, “I feel as though the horses were always in the front of my mind whether going to classes or working in the corporate world. I seemed to always find ways to ride, teach, or just be around horses.”
When McCall moved to Orlando, Florida, Heather Bristol offered her the opportunity to begin riding and training beginners for Meliora Stables LLC in Sanford, Florida. In addition to riding and teaching, McCall also worked as the lead marketing and public relations professional for SuperTech Media, an Orlando based web design firm. There McCall mastered how to market online, how to search marketing works, and how to stay within strict guidelines for online advertisements.
Beyond her equestrian and marketing experience, McCall possesses extensive photographic knowledge, much of which was acquired through involvement with Yosay Photography, her parent’s professional photography operation. From a young age, McCall participated in the business, gaining experience by shooting action photography, portrait photos, and particularly, sports photography. McCall proclaimed, “I have been groomed for this career at PMG my entire life.”
