PhelpsSports.com and ShowNet.biz Announce Game Plan for Joint Venture

Written by: Rebecca Walton
Client: PhelpsSports.com http://phelpssports.com/
Release Date: 2009-05-01

Wellington, FL - May 1, 2009 - The principal partners of PhelpsSports.com and ShowNet are very excited to announce that the two websites will be joining forces in the very near future, to provide a complete “one stop shopping website” for the equestrian community. The new partnership will bring together two of the most highly respected equestrian websites.

PhelpSports.com (www.PhelpsSports.com), one of the world’s fastest growing and most quoted equestrian news websites, will continue to provide their popular detailed horse show coverage that includes the best pictures from the top equestrian photographers, great reporting from their top notch staff of equestrian journalists and unique commentaries from some of the best writers in the equestrian industry.

In the meantime, ShowNet (www.ShowNet.biz) is working on, and will soon be releasing, a brand new exciting design to their popular information website. Shownet is the online equestrian information system dedicated to improving equestrian efficiency through advanced time management tools. Currently, ShowNet's main tools are their live orders of go and immediate results. Shownet's new design will offer a membership program so that a person can customize the various features to their barn and horses. The new features will include text message and email alerts and immediate results. The most exciting new aspect to the ShowNet component will be their new and highly innovative video results.

PhelpsSports.com is the ground-breaking subscription equestrian sports website that debuted in 2006 at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany. Since that time, over three thousand members from around the world have enjoyed features that include up-to-the-minute audio reports, live video interviews and winning round videos, plus the creative writing and reporting of some of the finest equestrian journalists in the world.

"I'm very excited about this new venture," stated Shownet creator and CEO Grant Williams. "I think it's going to add a great strength to both websites.”

“We want to revitalize our website,” added Williams’ partner in ShowNet, David Orlando, “This idea, of the two companies working closely together, is going to bring the members of both sites the very best information, from results to news reports, and it all comes with a single stop on the web.”

"We've all known each other and worked together at the horse shows for many years," added PhelpsSports.com President Mason Phelps. "Between the partners in this venture we have years and years of experience, and we know what the equestrian community wants and needs. I think that this is a great partnership and the personnel involved here are looking forward to working together for the industry."

“We will continue to provide our exceptional coverage that we are so proud of on PhelpsSports.com,” said Executive Editor Kenneth Kraus. “But now, we will be able to offer a more complete package to the subscribers of both services. We will have all of the results, and the stories and photos behind the results. And it all comes in a single, powerful ‘super site’ for all interested equestrians.”

PhelpsSports.com and Shownet will be offering their unique coverage and result services during the month of May at the Old Salem Horse Show, the entire series at the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows and the Devon Horse Show. Internationally, PhelpsSports.com will continue to report on the Global Champions Tour, the Developing Riders Tour, and the all new MEYDAN FEI Nations Cup series that replaces the Samsung Super League.

Looking ahead on the schedule, the two websites will also team up for shows at Horse Shows by the Bay, Lake Placid, the American Gold and the Cleveland Fall series and many others. The new "ShowNet Plus" service will be available beginning at the Lake Placid Horse Show.
