Bainbridge Farm’s Jennifer Reid Wins Championship at CN Winter Equestrian Festival

Written by: Jennifer Wood
Client: Bainbridge Farm
Release Date: 2008-04-02

Wellington, FL - April 2, 2008 - At the CN Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) competition last week, Jennifer Reid of Wellington, FL, won the championship in the Adult Equitation 18-35.

Reid piloted Jiminy Crickett II for Richard Schechter’s Bainbridge Farm in the division. She won the equitation flat class and she was first and second over fences. The top results gave her the championship in the division.

This was a slight change for Reid, who has been focusing more on the hunters this year with her top mount Good Point and also with Jiminy Crickett, who was the WEF circuit reserve champion in the Adult Amateur 18-35 Hunters in 2006.

“I personally love the challenge of the equitation division,” Reid said. “I love roll-backs and just trying to be attentive to the course and the horse without making any errors; trying to make it appear effortless. It also helps horses become accustomed to looking for the next fence.”

Reid said that although Jiminy Crickett has been winning in the hunters, he is still happy to do the equitation classes. “He's loves the equitation. I really think it's his forte,” she said.

Reid also likes the change of pace in a new division. “There's something about the equitation that is so appealing to me. I think it's a true test of real horsemanship,” she noted.
