One Tampa Equestrian Festival Qualifying Event Remains
Tampa, FL - March 31, 2008 - With America's premier outdoor show jumping competition now just a week away, Defending champion Beezie Madden is still atop the qualifying leader board for this year's $200,000 Budweiser American Invitational.
The $200,000 Budweiser American Invitational CSI 4*, takes place this Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 7 p.m. under the lights at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Aboard her Olympic Gold Medal partner Authentic, Madden has ridden to victory two times in this prestigious class, last year and in 2005, and totals $103,550 in prize money won this season.
Canadian superstar Eric Lamaze, top U.S. show jumping rider Kent Farrington, and ten-time AGA Rider of the Year Margie Engle remain in second, third and fourth place respectively, each with over $50,000 in money won.
With a victory this past Sunday in the $75,000 JustWorld Grand Prix of Tampa at the Tampa Equestrian Festival, William Lowry has skyrocketed into eleventh place, and has assured himself a spot in Saturday night's main event.
Over the years, the American Invitational has been recognized as the crown jewel of American show jumping, and year in and year out, it has been one of its toughest tests.
The $200,000 Budweiser American Invitational, at Raymond James Stadium, brings together a star studded international group of equestrians to compete for one of the richest purses in all of show jumping. The unique invitation-only format assures the best possible starting field.
