Beacon Hill Show Stables Sweeps Garden State Horse Show for Blue Ribbon Wins

Goutal Wins $50,000 Junior Essex Troop Grand Prix, Schaub and EL Raymond Victorious in Hunters
Colts Neck, NJ – May 15, 2007 – Beacon Hill Show Stables triumphed for top honors this past week at the Garden State Horse Show in Augusta, NJ. Beacon Hill, located in Colts Neck, NJ, is owned and managed by Frank and Stacia Madden.
Brianne Goutal and Mon Gamin topped the leader board in the $50,000 Junior Essex Troop Grand Prix, making this the young rider’s second consecutive grand prix win at the Garden State Horse Show. Last year she led the victory gallop with her other horse Onira. This past week Mon Gamin and Goutal also finished eighth in the $20,000 Ted Grant Welcome Stake.
Hayley Carlson and T. Naralda were victorious for blue ribbons in the Adult Amateur Jumper division and the NAL/WIHS Marshall & Sterling Adult Jumper Classic. Carlson pinned third in the classic with her second mount Athena.
In the NAL/WIHS Marshall & Sterling Children’s Jumper Classic, Laura-King Kaplan led the way to first place with Weber and also finished fifth aboard Harlem de Mescam.
I Love Lucy and Karen Polle received third place honors, and Sensation and Mackenzie Keck came away in the sixth place position. In the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, Chelsea Moss took fourth aboard Lorena 90. Maria Schaub also competed in the jumper ring with Marga in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, and the pair finished with the third place ribbon.
Moss added another blue ribbon to the Beacon Hill curtain when she won the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search with Onatello VDL. They also took home third place in the Marshall & Sterling Junior Medal. Moss competed with Logan in the Washington equitation class, pinning second overall, and they also captured fourth in the NJPHA Gold Medal.
First place in the Gold Medal was presented to Papillon 136 and Jessica Springsteen, and they also picked up third overall in the Washington equitation class. Karen Polle rode Aaron and ranked fourth overall in the Washington, fifth in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, and fifth in the NJPHA Gold Medal. Also in the Washington was Olivia Fass, and she finished in sixth place overall for her rides aboard Orion.
Polle showed Burgunder in the equitation classes and won first place in the USEF Medal, second in the Marshall & Sterling Junior Medal, and fourth in the ASPCA Maclay. Carolyn Curcio partnered with Valvert and won sixth place in the NJPHA Gold Medal and seventh in the Washington overall.
King-Kaplan piloted Charlie Z to second place in the NJPHA Gold Medal, seventh in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, and eighth in the Washington overall. She also received fifth place with Versace in the Marshall & Sterling Junior Medal. Christina Lin was awarded second in the USEF Medal with her mount Allegro.
Schaub competed in the equitation classes with I Toon and won the blue ribbon in the Marshall & Sterling Junior Medal. She also took second in the PHA Medal and sixth in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. Schaub showed Cobblestone and captured first place overall for the Washington equitation and third in the NJPHA Gold Medal. In the Ariat Adult Medal, Lindsey Mohr triumphed for first place aboard Lion King.
In the hunter arena, Kristen Mohr piloted Marvel to the reserve championship in the Children’s 14 & Under Hunters, and she was the class winner in the Children’s Small/Medium Pony Hunters with A Happy Medium. In addition, the red ribbon was pinned on the pony’s bridle in the NJPHA Pony Medal.
Catherine Avolese and Gotham City were champions of the Children’s 15 & Under Hunter Horse division and were fifth in the NAL/WIHS Marshall & Sterling Children’s Horse Classic.
In the Junior Hunter division, Lucky Joe and Jacqueline Lubrano were reserve champions of the Large Junior 15 & Under Hunters, and Sublime and Springsteen won the championship for the Small Junior 15 & Under Hunters. Schaub guided EL Raymond to the championship in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunter division. They won the Grand Hunter Championship and took first place in the Garden State Hunter Classic.
Schaub was also presented with the Best Child Rider Award.
In addition to Frank and Stacia Madden, Beacon Hill Show Stables is composed of assistant trainers Jennifer Griffiths, Max Amaya, Krista Freundlich, and Heather Senia. This summer the horses and riders at Beacon Hill will showcase at the Devon Horse Show, HITS in Saugerties, the Wachovia Jumper Classic at Beacon Hilll, and the Lake Placid Horse Shows.
