SBS Farm’s Kacey McCann Wins Best Junior Rider Title For Fourth Time At HITS Ocala

Ocala, FL- March 13, 2006- For the fourth week in a row, Kacey McCann of Palmyra, Pennsylvania was named Best Junior Rider by the judges at the HITS V Ocala Finals show in Ocala, Florida. This is the fourth time in five weeks that McCann has received this prestigious award here in Ocala. SBS Farms captured four championships and one reserve championship this final week at Ocala.

In the Equitation 15-17 division, McCann began her week with a blue ribbon riding her equitation horse, Marcellus, owned by the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center of Buffalo, New York.

McCann also rode Marcellus in the USEF/Pessoa Hunt Seat Medal class and took home the blue ribbon against some stiff competition. She commented, “The course was hard. It had a lot of tight distances. But the test was really good. It had a counter canter and a trot jump.”

In the Small Junior Hunter 15 and Under Hunter division, McCann showed Regalo, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest M. Oare of Warrenton, Virginia. The pair was champion in the division with forty points, taking home three first places and one second place ribbon to capture the tricolor. McCann spoke highly of Regalo, “He’s really a cool horse. You can really move him up to the oxers. I like riding him.”

Also in the Small Junior Hunter 15 and Under Hunter division, McCann showed Natalie for owners Mr. and Mrs. Hunt Tosh. The pair received three second place ribbons.

McCann finished off her superb weekend with a win in the Modified Junior Hunter division. Again on Natalie, she took two blue ribbons on her way to winning the championship ribbon.

McCann had a special visitor at the show this weekend. Her mother was there cheering her on. Beth McCann said, “Jennifer’s mom (Ms. Alfano) and I are just riding around in the golf cart, having fun, and being proud moms!”

In the First Year Green Hunter division, Breitling took home four blue ribbons for the championship. Jennifer Alfano had the ride for owner Jennifer Burger of Buffalo, New York.

Violets Are Blue with Jennifer Alfano aboard for owner Helen Lenehan of Buffalo, NY, won the reserve championship in the Pre-Green Hunter (High) division with the win in two classes.

SBS Farm riders will compete at the Atlanta Spring Classic Horse Show in March in Atlanta, Georgia.
