Karen Healey Stables Scores Major Wins with Hannah Selleck and Michelle Morris at Indio Desert Circuit

Indio, CA – March 7, 2006 – Karen Healey Stables had a phenomenal week in the fifth edition of the 2006 Indio Desert Circuit. Leading the way was Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA, who scored wins in the jumper and equitation divisions during the week.

Her big win came in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic with her reliable partner, Cirka Z. Selleck won both phases and was the overall winner of the Washington International Horse Show Equitation Classic. She won the B Section of the ASPCA Maclay class and finished second in the USET Show Jumping Talent Search class on Kyle.

Second place in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic went to Shelby Wakeman of Westlake, CA, and her new mount, Punker. Wakeman then switched horses and finished third in the USET Talent Search on Rodin.

The win in the USET Talent Search went to another Karen Healey Stables rider, Megan Edrick, who rode Tammy Chipko’s All That. In the WIHS Equitation Classic, Veronica Tracy of San Juan Capistrano finished second overall, and Carly Anthony of Redmond, WA, was fifth.

Anthony also finished second in the A Section of the ASPCA Maclay and piloted Arwen Stables’ San Francisco to second place in the USEF Junior Medal Section A.

Another very successful rider at the fifth week of Indio was Michelle Morris of La Canada, CA. She and Tammy Chipko’s Helio Paws had two amazing jumper classic wins. On Friday night, they raced to first place in the $1,000 Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic. They repeated their performance on Sunday when they led the victory gallop over an astounding 94 other competitors in the $4,000 Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic. Morris then rode Kristi Siam’s Cara G to fourth place in the USEF Junior Medal class.

Yvette Lang-Einczig rode to first, third, and fourth place ribbons in the Equitation 36-50 division, which earned her the reserve championship. She also placed fourth in the USEF Senior Medal and the CPHA Adult Medal. Fellow adult rider Holly Hansen received top ribbons in the Farnam Adult 36-45 Hunters with her two horses, Jaded and Harmony.

Alexandra Conforti of La Canada, CA, finished second in the WCE Junior/Amateur Medal class. Skylar Nelson and Magic Formula took home the blue ribbon in the Small Pony Hunters and the HITS Pony Medal class. Another pony rider, Lucy Davis, picked up two second place ribbons in the Medium Pony Hunters on Macy Grey. Davis also won the Pony Equitation over fences class.

Karen Healey Stables will wrap up their stay in Indio as they compete in the final Indio Desert Circuit show on March 7-12, 2006.
