Wellington, Fla. - Feb. 7, 2017 -Horses Healing Hearts(HHH) was among 35 Palm Beach County charities to benefit from $1.5 million raised by the 8th Annual Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments® (GCC). It was HHH's third year benefiting from the event, which took place on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The non-profit was represented by the team of Jennifer Hannan, Ally Marrinan and Nina Rotondo, who were dressed as Monsters, Inc. characters in the animated-themed event. The team was graciously supported by the Marrinan and Rotondo families, with corporate sponsorship from Gold Coast Feed & Supply. They finished in a time of 110.639 seconds, earning $19,000 for the charity in the jumping competition, and an additional $2,000 after taking third place in the team costume competition.
To date, HHH has received a total of $67,000 in donations from the GCC, including the $21,000 from Saturday's event.
The relay-style equestrian jumping competition was held at the world famous Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. In its inaugural year (2010), the GCC generated over $400,000 for 24 local charities and today, has donated over $10.7 million to 200 Palm Beach County charities. This year the event will distribute $1.5 million to add to its already incredible fundraising amount, surpassing the $10 million milestone.

Horses Healing Hearts is a one-of-a-kind prevention education program helping children who have been affected by a family member with addiction. At HHH, children build self-esteem and confidence by working with horses. HHH is the only program of its kind, giving children tools to change their lives and break the generational cycle of addiction in a safe and nurturing environment.
