Karen Healey Stables Grabs Big Wins at Indio Desert Circuit III

Indio, CA – February 15, 2006 – The Indio Desert Circuit, held last week from February 7-12, 2006, was a big week for Karen Healey Stables. They grabbed victories in major hunter, equitation, and jumper classes, as well as Indio Mid-Circuit Awards.

The always competitive duo of Country Grammar and Mary Ann Weisberg-Perry of Burbank, CA, won the Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic this week. Their success thus far led to the Mid-Circuit Reserve Championship in the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunter division.

The adorable pony Macy Gray, owned by Lucy Davis, also picked up a Mid-Circuit Reserve Championship in the Medium Pony Hunters.

At the third week of Indio, the equitation riders of Karen Healey Stables have gotten into the winning groove. The most decorated rider of the week was Tiffany Weeda of San Juan Capistrano, CA. She and Europa Eins posted a win in the CPHA Junior Medal. They were second in the HBO Junior Medal, third in both the USEF Junior Medal and WIHS Equitation Classic overall, and fourth in the CPHA Foundation Medal.

Torie Immel of Newport Beach, CA, and Ambassador won the jumper phase of the Washington International Horse Show Equitation Classic. Their solid performance in the hunter phase also led to the win overall. Immel also finished second in the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship class.

First in the ASPCA Maclay class went to another Karen Healey Stables rider, Veronica Tracy of San Juan Capistrano, CA, and Guns N Roses. Third in the class went to Redmond, WA, resident Carly Anthony and Alazon. Anthony also finished third in the WCE Junior/Amateur Medal and fifth in the CPHA Junior Medal class. Second in the CPHA Foundation Medal was Michelle Morris of La Canada, CA, with Conrad. The pair also finished fourth in the USEF Junior Medal class.

Another top junior rider, Shelby Wakeman of Westlake, CA, rode Rodin to second place in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class. Wakeman picked up the ride on a new horse, Punker, and won in the High Junior Jumpers.

Kristi Siam, of Chatsworth, CA, rode Cara G to first place in the Ariat Adult Medal, and finished sixth in the Foxfield Medal. Third in the Foxfield was Agoura Hills, CA, resident Karoline Sauls and Pilot Memori. Sauls was also fourth in the USEF Senior Medal.

After a fourth under saddle and a second and two thirds over fences, Stefanie Mazer of Santa Monica, CA, and La Luna received the reserve championship in the Equitation 18-35 division. The pair was also third in the Charles Owen Adult Medal.

The youngest member of the equitation team at Karen Healey Stables, Skylar Nelson, rode Magic Formula to the win in the HITS Pony Medal.

After a week of rest, Karen Healey Stables will continue competition at the Indio Desert Circuit on February 21-26, 2006.
