Mason Phelps and Carol Cohen Chair American Cancer Society “Denim and Pearls” Fundraiser

Wellington, FL- December 22, 2005- Mason Phelps, Jr., President of the Wellington-based equestrian Public Relations company Phelps Media Group, Inc. International, has been named the Honorary Chairman of the “Denim and Pearls” Gala. The benefit raises funds for the American Cancer Society- Palm Beach Unit and will be held from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2006. Guests will dine and dance in the covered arena of the private dressage estate, Two Swans Farm. The immaculate facility is owned by the event’s Chairwoman Carol Cohen.

The arena, which will be converted into a pavilion with hard wood flooring, will seat 400 guests who will dine on gourmet Italian cuisine. Those who attend will enjoy live music from the band “The Sultans of Swing” and have the opportunity to participate in both a live auction and a silent auction.

“They wanted to keep the equestrian feel,” explained Cohen, “so my farm lent itself to that because of the covered arena.” Equestrians will feel right at home in Cohen’s magnificent mahogany dressage pavilion which will be transformed into a stunning Denim & Pearls haven by Atlas Floral Decorators. The stables’ pristine aisle ways, courtyard area, and gorgeous landscaping will contribute to the equestrian ambiance as well.

“I’m happy to host this event at my farm. I feel it’s important for those of us who can help to do what we can for the community,” related Cohen. “My husband, who passed away last year, and I always felt that those who have much, have much to give back. It’s part of our responsibility. I think it’s a human responsibility.”

Community Representative Renee Johnsson of The American Cancer Society is organizing the event along with the representing sponsor, Zada Enterprises, LLC. The American Cancer Society, a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization, is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.

Zada Enterprises, LLC, an active and well-known sponsor of equestrian competitions in Wellington, is a corporation owned by Joseph Zada, a businessman and amateur rider who competes and trains in dressage and adult hunters and jumpers. His corporation sponsors events during the Winter Equestrian Festival and the National Horse Show. Though Zada Enterprises, LLC evolved as a company devoted to sponsorships primarily in the equestrian world, the reach of the support extends to other endeavors as well. In West Palm Beach, Zada Enterprises, LLC sponsors the Sheriff's Football Team and the Southern Florida Lawmen's Softball Teams. Zada Enterprises, LLC also funds handicapped and therapeutic riding centers in Michigan and Colorado and organizations supporting terminally ill AIDS patients.

When asked why he supports the American Cancer Society, Zada noted, “I have great determination in fighting for a cure to this relentless disease, especially since the disease has really hit home by plaguing members of my own immediate family. It is very gratifying to know that I have contributed to this extremely important cause. If we all take a small step for the cause, it may result in a big step for the cure. Please help in supporting this event and continue your support so that we may all strive for the cure together.”

The American Cancer Society is honored to have Mr. Zada supporting this year’s Denim & Pearls Gala. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 4th, as the American Cancer Society, Carol Cohen, Mason Phelps, Jr. and Joseph Zada bring Denim and Pearls to Wellington.
